This is all a bit of a mess.
And at this stage, the blame for this mess lies squarely at the door of the previous Tory government.
I hope Starmer's government tackles the root cause: that we're locking up too many people.
One thing they could do would be to decriminalise drugs. 17% of the prison population are there for drug offences, so that would make a huge difference.
But I bet they won't.

This will be part of a Chinese meal I will cook for and have with my friends Kari & Youcef.
Kari had bought a huge aubergine for me and I had already used part of it for a dip. I will need to add spring onion greens on the day*. The dish, at this stage, will keep in the fridge till the end of the week.

This week’s #PlantMail potted up. I also repotted my Echeveria Benimusume, which I posted earlier. That one I’d been dreading doing.
Then we went for a drive around town to charge my car battery, which keeps dying, and of course stopped for the requisite Saturday Bunnings sausage sanga.
- Graptoveria Pink Rose was love at first sight.
- Euphorbia Lactea Cristata looks much less variegated than in the sales photo so I’ve left the “Variegata” out of the name.
- Echeveria Madiba was leaf grown from one with bumps (not by me) but not really showing any true signs of bumps at this stage.

During this stage I often get help from two additional sources of information:
1. The model from #model_angelo sometimes helps moving the #AF2 model to the correct location, in these cases where a segment of the AF2 model doesn't match the map. Very often these discrepancies between map and prediction point to regions of the protein involved in conformational change, so I make a note of the chain ID and residue range so I know to take a close look later and compare to related structures.

At this stage it is carry on regardless. There seems to be plenty of observing time, but it will mean careful selection of a few good targets, fewer than intended. Over the day I will have a ponder about what I really want to have a look at & focus on.
