The Five Babies one came up in my recommendations today! LOL

With the imminent changes to the regulatory framework that removes the differentiation between shorter horizontal cDramas and verticals, the various apps are starting to merge these two categories and just about anything seems to be put in the window by the algorithms. One wonders how long some of these types of productions will survive now that the higher end verticals and shorts will be coming under national censorship scrutiny.

The titles of the ones I am getting referred on WeTV at least or more outrageous — the obviously AI produced ones are the worst. (Some I would blush to include in a poll.) Many are in the ‘rental’ category even for VIP subscribers. M mI suppose this means that they were licensed from other platforms.

On the other hand, an upcoming S-tier 40 episode long format cDrama (starring Meng Xiyi & Li Yunrui) has recently been given an official title English translation translation of ***Tiger Sniffs the Rose***.🌹

A sampling of current WeTV vertical drama titles.

  2. CW: Moon River ep8

Poor bird. It’s lived a horrible life, in inhumane captivity conditions. She was so scared for her baby. And now she dies a terrible death. 😭

  3. Yesterday, I started a new #Kdrama on #Viki. The choice was hard; being a recent Viki user, there are a lot of things to watch!
After minutes of searching, I decided to start #MyDearestNemesis. I liked the first episode. And the game playing at the beginning, the one with real characters, was too funny! 😂

Ohh, I didn’t know!! 😲 But... without a beautiful, charming, and complex character like the one played by IU, it will probably be all another thing...
And Lee Soo-Hyuk as a Grim Reaper is not a “new” thing (see: “Tomorrow”).

  5. @jane23c me too. I also have a #kdrama feed here, but it's set to repost the hashtag, posts without it don't get included.

  6. @ronsboy67
Good point. I've got a bit lazy as I follow a kdrama thread on bluesky which reposts any 'kdrama' or #kdrama' mentions.

  7. @jane23c @cinderdazzle612 if the #kDrama hashtag was used universally, it shouldn't matter which instance you were on. I'm now wondering if that's why my #kDrama feed is relatively quiet - people not putting # in front of kdrama 🤔

  8. CW: Moon River ep5

Kang Tae-ho is much better at this than Kim Se-jeong 😂

  9. CW: Moon River ep4

Ohhhhhh is the grand prince actually the Left Minister’s son? Is that why he refuses to make him king? Because he can’t make his daughter marry him?

  10. So annoyed by the ending of #DoDoSolSolLaLaSol. It had it's sweet moments, but come. on. with the cheap tear-baiting. Not cute, writers!

  11. CW: “Moon in the Day” review (no spoiler)

I finished #MoonInTheDay. If you haven’t watched it, a few warnings: first, it’s NOT a “light” drama; some episodes are particularly “bloody”. The story revolves around things like karma, fate, reincarnation, and curses, and it continually switches between the present day and the “ancient” period.

Apart from the OST song by Zia, which I love, the story is not really bad, and some episodes are even intriguing. But I admit that it’s not a #Kdrama for everyone!

  12. I went to the library earlier and borrowed the French edition of Min Jin Lee's #Pachinko.

I figured I might read the novel before watching the #kDrama.

Another is reason is that American Hagwon, Min Jin Lee's next novel, is coming out soon and I want to find out if I like her writing style.

  13. So where are all the #kdrama watchers going to move to before the demise of Toot?
