So, whilst I try to figure out something to play next, I decided to revisit a game I hadn't quite finished fully yet.
Super Aleste or Space Megaforce's advanced difficulties were always quite daunting especially Wild/Lunatic difficulty, where enemies move faster, take more damage and when they die, launch a death bullet at you. Even certain obstacles launch a wave of bullets at you and it can get overwhelming pretty quickly.
Thankfully these bullets can be shot down with specific weapons (Laser and Power shots charge-up and beam), but it's not a perfect counter measure.
The real saving grace is infinite continues, allowing you to restart from a checkpoint or the start of the stage. It does become a bit of an exercise in patience, but the journey has been quite satisfying. I should probably revisit GG Aleste 2 and 3, as those games are also absolutely fantastic.

Its much cooler today then its been these last few weeks and I'm very happy about this. Germany OUT OF THE WORLD CUP and IM VERY HAPPY (AND PMSL) about this. Back to reviewing today, 2 games from schell games, Enemy Mind an old school shmup and innercube, a colourful block moving puzzle game. Then its brick survivors roguelite, a bat and ball with upgrades, and finally around 4pm GMT, Gobliiins Collection on PS5, an old blast from the Amiga past. Finally opened my #RabiRibi PC limited edition. The game code is hidden in a card in a cardboard box, the way the protagonist is found at the start of the game.
10/10 game, a bit difficult, but a great mix of shmup bosses with Metroidvania gameplay, good humor and countless secrets. And girls.
