夏前に作った『葉差し丼』で、今回なんとパールフォンニュルンベルクが「綴化（てっか）」になって発芽しました。嬉し―！ついに私のお庭に綴化がきてくれたーー！！
とはいえ変異株なので無事に成長できるかは心配で見守っていたのですが、全然普通に元気。来年の春の植替えが楽しみ。
好きなだけ大きくなれる環境にしてみたいなぁ。ねー神様？

切り戻しした切口から、新芽が出てきました。

連日秋晴れの恵みにより、安定しました＆めちゃ元気そうです。

苔が急速に発達したため、こちらのだるま秋麗と朧月の鉢は土を全て入れ替えました。前に同様の寄せ植え鉢が苔によって本体がボロボロになったことがあるので、早期発見・早期手当てです。素焼きの鉢は苔が出やすいのが難点です。

こちらのスリラーパールをお迎えして1年。この子たちは実験的に他の多肉とは違う土を使ってみてた。春にお花が咲いていたので元気なのかなと思っていたけど、秋になったのに、大きさが変わらなくて成長点から新芽が出てくるなどの変化も小さい。それで、いったん鉢からあげて土をはらって根っこを確認したら、根っこが上手く成長できていなかった。これは土のせいで、保水力が低すぎたんだと思う。
「ごめんよー💦」ってなりながら、枯れて傷んだ根っこを掃除して、他の元気な子たちと同じ土に植え替えました。植え替え後も連日秋晴れが続いているので、なんとか落ち着いて根を張ってくれたらいいな。こんな時こそメネデールなんだろうけど、土を変えてどう変化するかを見たいので使わないで様子見。

New cultivar registration: Tradescantia pallida 'Sundry Charm'
Another new introduction from Bree Harrison, this time raised from seed of 'Blue Sue'.

Euphorbia schoenlandii (闘牛閣)
This is a winter-growing euphorbia and it seems to have made it through its first summer in my care without any problems. This is the first time I've seen its flowers.
E. schoenlandii is best known for the bull-horn-like upward-pointing spines (hence “闘牛閣”) but most of the new spines on this one are pretty horizontal. Not sure why 🤔

When I got this it pretty much only had the lower rungs of branches; now it's going nuts. Lovely to see a plant thrive.

another gem, Lithops geyeri, from a small area in the eastern Richtersveld in South Africa, growing in quartzite. Described as normally being in shades of grey, buff or beige but mine is this lovely green. Bought in 2012 as a small plant and doing really well.

New cultivar registration: Tradescantia 'Malachite'
This is a hybrid created by Alex Rassadnikov in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The seed parent was T. brevifolia 'Scout', and the pollen parent is a mystery, but probably a T. pallida, T. hirta, or T. 'Raspberry Ruffle'.

Rocky Mountain Fresh at the Longmont Farmers Market isn't only produce... they run a whole table of cactus and succulents. 40mm at f/4, two thirds under, which dropped everything around the pot into shadow. The ribs only read because the light skims across them.

Lithops karasmontana, one of the white-flowered species, with lovely markings. I bought it as a young plant in 2003 when it had only two heads - now it has 17! Doing well far from its home in Namibia.
