I feel like I need to apologize because yet *again* there are families who will go to bed tonight with an empty bed where a child should be; this time a religious school in Nashville, TN. Can we please, please, have a rational and HONEST conversation about assault weapons in the United States? Please?
Two facts:
1) the shooting occurred even after the school implemented an active shooter program in 2022; it failed to protect 7 people
2) the attack lasted 14 minutes -
Was supposed to have a thing tonight, which was supposed to last 3hrs. I had a lot of #anxiety about it & have spent the whole week psyching myself up for it. My day was planned out, I knew what I was doing & when. I knew what I was eating & when.
Now the thing has been cancelled last minute cos of other people & I have been sat #sobbing & unable to figure out what's going on at all. Paralysed by distressing, overwhelming uncertainty. I don't usually fall apart this badly to plan changes, so I feel ridiculous.
