21th place: "Akalabeth1000" for the #SEGA #SG1000 (by dark).

It started out as a proof of concept (PoC) for the Sega SC-3000, focusing on the drawing routines. Later, I became interested in how the game works at its core. The GW-Basic port of Akalabeth, which is itself a port of Applesoft Basic, served as the template.

This week on the blog: I port my TI-99/4A capstone project over to the SG-1000, then refactor it so that ports to the ColecoVision and MSX are relatively trivial. Along the way I poke into as many corners of the Z80 ISA as I can.

This week focuses mostly on the SG-1000, to continue from the previous article; I'll be looking more closely at the details of the CV and MSX soon enough.

This week on the blog: I'm planning to mess around some with the "Children of the TI-99" systems I'd identified last week, but step one on that is to get the SG-1000 -- which is basically just bare hardware your ROM needs to interface with -- enough support code that writing for it will be roughly equivalent to the ColecoVision and MSX.
