Star Wars Jedi 3 Launching In 2027, Claims Insider
The claim comes from FivesWalker on X, an emerging Star Wars leaker whose previous information has earned them some credibility among fans. Responding to a question about the third game, they wrote: “Yes, Jedi 3 will be next year. Marketing will start to occur sooner than you think.”
They went on to say they’d bet on marketing beginning before The Game Awards. That part sounds more like their own expectation than a firm claim about a reveal date, though. But it would be a pretty likely bet if the game is launching in the first half of next year.

As for why this particular account might be worth listening to, Bespin Bulletin has credited FivesWalker with sharing accurate Maul – Shadow Lord plot details in advance, as well as information about Mandoverse directors pitching their own projects before TheWrap reported on it. It seems like FivesWalker might have some sources inside Lucas.
2027 has come up before, although the distinction between a leak and an educated guess is important here. In a March article, Bespin Bulletin argued that spring 2027 would make sense, allowing roughly four years after Survivor and putting the game near the release of Star Wars: Starfighter. That was the outlet’s analysis, rather than a release date supplied by a source.
There have also been a couple of more substantial rumours about the game itself. Speaking on Insider Gaming Weekly, episode 64, Tom Henderson said he’d previously heard that Cal would be older in the third game, suggesting another time jump. He didn’t specify how much older, and said the information was around a year old when he discussed it.
Meanwhile, on Game Mess Mornings’ May 27 episode, Jeff Grubb said production began around the release of Jedi: Survivor, with some work apparently already underway before it launched. According to Grubb, the team knew they wanted to make a trilogy. Bespin Bulletin transcribed both podcast comments in its June report. Neither establishes a 2027 release, but both give us a little more to go on than simply counting the years between the previous games.
EA confirmed in September 2024 that Respawn was working on the final chapter of the story. We still don’t have its official title or any gameplay footage, though.
Personally, 2027 seems plausible to me. The first game took around 5 years, with the second taking 3.5 years due to a lot of the foundational work already being done. That makes a 2027 release for the third game in the trilogy a strong possibility.
My bigger hope is that Respawn gives this one the time it needs to launch in better technical shape than Survivor did. Cal’s already got enough problems without the framerate joining the Empire.
It’s a damn good time to be a fan of Star Wars in videogames. A few weeks ago we got the excellent Star Wars: Zero Company, and then in a few more days we get Star Wars: Galactic Racer, which I’m in the middle of reviewing right now. If Jedi 3 launches early next year, we eating gooooood.

C’était présenté comme de « potentiels » épisodes 7 à 9. Ça se passait après la chute de l’Empire dans l’épisode 6. La nouvelle République gérait ses soucis plus un mystérieux haut gradé de l’Empire, collectionneur d’art. Luke de son côté cherche un clone d’un Jedi je crois. Et il me semble que l’on croise Mara Jade à un moment.

¿Una nueva saga de Star Wars?
Lucasfilms pone en marcha un nuevo segmento de la historia Skywalker, pero…¿Es necesaria?
Star Wars: Episodio X ya está oficialmente en marcha. Siete años después del estreno de Star Wars: Ep. IX – El Ascenso de Skywalker, la compañía ya está trabajando activamente en su próxima gran película de la saga. Entre medias, Lucasfilm ha puesto sus esfuerzos principalmente en series para Disney+, con solo dos estrenos cinematográficos: The Mandalorian & Grogu hace unos meses y Star Wars: Starfighter en 2027.
Pero después de todo este tiempo, la compañía ya está lista para regresar a la Saga Skywalker con el Episodio X de Star Wars, que de hecho ya tiene incluso director. Según informa The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm habría cerrado el fichaje de Jon Watts para hacerse cargo del proyecto. El cineasta es conocido por su trabajo en el Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel, dirigiendo la primera trilogía completa del Spider-Man de Tom Holland.
Hay que recordar, eso sí, que el Episodio X no será el primer encargo de Jon Watts en el universo Star Wars. Y es que hace apenas un año estrenó en Disney+ la serie Skeleton Crew (Tripulación perdida). Se trató de una serie familiar creada por él mismo que seguía el tono de obras ochenteras como Los Goonies y que tuvo como protagonista a Jude Law. Ahora, el cineasta regresará a la franquicia galáctica, esta vez con un encargo mucho mayor.
Jon Watts dirigirá Star Wars: Episodio X a raíz de un guion escrito por Simon Kinberg, que lleva ya varios años trabajando en toda una nueva trilogía. Cocreador de la aclamada serie Star Wars Rebels, el guionista se puso manos a la obra a finales de 2024 y parece que la historia ya está bastante avanzada. Según la fuente, la película se describe como la próxima entrega de la Saga Skywalker.
Así las cosas, Rey Skywalker, la protagonista de la última trilogía, regresaría a Star Wars: Episodio X, si bien no está claro cuál será su peso en el filme. Por el momento, Disney aún no habría dado luz verde definitiva para empezar el rodaje de la cinta, pero todo parece apuntar a que lo hará en los próximos meses. Y es que el filme se antoja como el siguiente gran estreno de la compañía después de Star Wars: Starfighter.
