Damn, going back to Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic (2024) after a long time off is rough, man. I don't remember how to do anything, and the map beginnings are especially demanding. I wanted to start a realistic game and I kept remembering everything that it entails. I started planning a gravel quarry and I just quit the game when I couldn't even plan a dirt road to come down from it. 😩

You cannot make an underwhelming game with $300M and four years of development.
My guess? It was because they made one and a half game (they rebuilt part of the game around 2023). Plus, the curse of #SweetBabyInc, so good riddance.

A 20-week study contrasted changes in cognitive performance between and electrical brain activity between groups of college students playing action or strategy video games (1 hr/day, n=33 and 35, respectively). Both groups had improved spatial attention, working memory, and executive function. Improvements in spatial attention and working memory were greater for the action game players.
