Oh hey #sentinelcomics next, that's another sort-of-RNG creation system, sweet! It's probably my favorite superhero game on the market that I've experienced so far
Anyway, after the dice gods staked their claim, I've ended up with...a Hellboy character that's blundered into the wrong setting? Huh. Neat. Alright, so this is a time-displaced (or is he?) medieval knight still waging war against demons and devils. And regular supervillains, but he complains about those ones.

One thing that Sentinel Comics does that other TTRPGs could learn from, is the custom Quality stat
At the end of the character creation process you get to make up a Quality. Any word or term that sums up as much as possible about your character's past
This means the game future proofs itself. The devs can't actually prepare for every possible background anyone will ever come up with for the foreseeable future. So instead, leave it in the hands of the players!

@RufuScott After having fun times playing #Mothership, #SentinelComics and (the excellent) Romance of The Perilous Land, some chums and I have started playing #DND.
We have reasonably regular sessions, online via #Roll20 and IRL (see photo), and routinely bemuse our DM no end with our bumbling ability to drag out a campaign.

Since we haven't got as far as playing the game yet I can't comment on how it runs, but hopefully the initial impression that it is over complicated and trying to be different for the sake of it isn't borne out at the table. Parts of it seem quite clever, other parts have potential, so we'll see.

Had a second crack at finishing my character for the next Tuesday game, Sentinel Comics. As I'm still struggling considerably with the effects of covid this has not been at all easy. The rather kinetic presentation and confused layout certainly didn't help, even with the PDF open at different pages on several devices. Got to the end and it seems I missed something from last week, so still not done. Hilarious that people think Champions is difficult.

@Role_Play_Chat Light or heavy does not matter much to me, but my favorite is when the mechanics hold up as interesting and engaging in their own right.
#FateOfTheNorns is a game like that at the heavier end. #SentinelComics is a lighter one.
