STAR WARS DAY STAR WARS RPG SESSION!
After the Dragonbane session, I ran a #StarWars #EdgeoftheEmpire #TTRPG session at Here Be Dragons in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur. The players had to capture a fugitive former Imperial Security Bureau director in Hutt Space. The New Republic operatives travelled from Adelphi to Kintan. Also, Sigourney Weaver made a surprise guest NPC appearance on Adelphi.

Hello everyone, I have an oddly specific #ttrpg / #StarWars question: There is the website http://d6holocron.com/astrogation/ which has a cool tool for travel times in the SW galaxy. Sadly, it doesn't work any longer, but we want to use it in our upcoming campaign (again). Do you know any easy alternative? Thanks in advance!
PS: It doesn't work with archive.org either.

Today at #gencon I played a Duros mechanic in a really fun #EdgeOfTheEmpire game. Then played #SavageWorlds Flash Gordon, wrecked 2 wolfoid arena monsters and then got crushed for 32 damage by a giant robot! Owwwww! #ttrpg

@bwebster Escape from Mos Shuuta is an introductory adventure for Star Wars Edge of the Empire. I think it makes a good starter game because it introduces gaming mechanics a bit at a time, holding the GM's hand as well as the players'. Getting GMs comfortable running a system is just as important as getting players comfortable. This module is also small enough to fit in one session while also including enough to demonstrate what playing #swrpg #EdgeoftheEmpire is like.

#ThisWeekAtMyTable my brand new Edge of the Empire group decided to attack a group of thugs who were trying to bully a poor mining community into giving up their land.
They ambushed a convoy of construction vehicles and blew them to pieces with improvised mining charges and frag grenades, a complete massacre.
The adventure I'm running (Long Arm of the Hutt) changes gears to a heavy RP fancy dress party next, we will see how my murderhoboes do!

I just realized a real problem about having most of your #StarWars nerd friends in your new #EdgeOfTheEmpire group: It significantly reduces the number of people I can tell about cool plot twists I have planned if I don't want to spoil anyone.

Nachdem die für gestern organisierte Runde #MasksANewGeneration ausgefallen ist, wurde es dann spontan eine Runde #EdgeOftheEmpire mit meinen liebsten #StarWars Nerds. Merke: Ein "leichter Job", um für die Rebellion Waffen an aufständische Bergleute zu schmuggeln, wird durch ein paar Piraten mit einer geklauten Raiderkorvette nicht leichter.
Und vielleicht ergibt sich daraus jetzt eine Kampagne, mal gucken.

I’m in a Star Wars: Edge of the Empire campaign, and I’m just not sold on these Genesys dice. So far, only once have they forced upon us a cool, fun result that we wouldn’t have gotten from a more traditional dice resolution system.
Mostly, they deliver results that are hard to parse and put a lot of pressure on the GM. “You succeed or fail, but some extra bad or good stuff happens. What are those extra things? Figure it out yourself!”

@MoltenSulfur Hmm.... This sounds like one of the modules my group played. We went the negotiation route ourselves, and ended up getting those former clone troopers into some nice retirement digs.

@phd20 That's one reason I listen to actual plays, to get ideas for #NPCs. So yes, I'd reuse an NPC in a new campaign, regardless of setting, if they fit a needed role. But as soon as that NPC came into being, they would of course begin to deviate from how they were in their previous iteration.
I've done this with PCs, too. When we first got #StarWarsRPG #EdgeoftheEmpire we recreated our PCs from a #GURPS #Fallout game to take the new system for a spin. #ttrpg

After our #InvisibleSun game had to be canceled yesterday due to our GM being a horribly good person who cares for his goddaughter, @Ghulgrube kindly GMed a #StarWars #EdgeOfTheEmpire game for @catrinity, @tinofalke and me.
We were in Maz Kanata's castle/cantina when an Imperial cruiser appeared in orbit and told us that someone in there had stolen cultural artifacts and the whole place would be vaporized if the thief wasn't found.
So we looked around and wondered who here could have something like that. Answer: Obviously everyone. We had a fun mix of GM- and player-invented scoundrels and villains of all kinds who we could trust to escalate the whole thing if we didn't act.
In the end, we managed to figure out who was selling and who was buying the artifact, distracted the buyer, bluffed the seller, got the artifact, realized it was something Force-related that shouldn't find its way back to the Empire and switched it for a vaguely similar item. We then figured out who among the locals was actually an ISB agent, stunned her, grabbed her credentials and used them to frame her as the thief, with my droid posing as an ISB intermediary handing over the "thief" and the "artifact" to the arriving Imperial soldiers.
Considering our GM had about one evening to prepare for the game *and* incorporated our spontaneously invented NPCs into a cool closed room scenario with lots of escalation potential, an amazing amount of fun was had. Also, the usefulness of a gamorrean bachelor party as a distraction cannot be overstated.

This week I'll be going south to visit Pay Fong Middle School in #Melaka for their English Language Week.
I have been invited to run RPG sessions and give a talk about role-playing games in education.
On Thursday, with the younger kids I will be running #YearZeroMini. On Friday I've prepped #StarWars #EdgeoftheEmpire for the older kids. The talk will be on Saturday.
I am stoked that I'm able to do this, and terrified that I'd bungle this up somehow.

Ran session 1 of my #StarWars #ttrpg #EdgeOfTheEmpire campaign last night. 2 players new to the system, 2 who had been in my truncated #AgeOfRebellion campaign. Their first job was to deliver a team of rebels to Onderon for Operation Shadowpoint, which is the campaign I had run.

Mein erstes Mal überhaupt mit Cam 🎥 .Heute weiter mit der ersten Tischrunde seit über einem Jahr (und der ersten mit Potential für eine dauerhafte Runde seit Covid)
