  1. #GenCon tickets purchased. Struck out on #FantasyAGE, but that was mostly because of scheduling conflicts. Got tickets for both of the #Dune games my wife wants to play. She loves "Dune." I, on the other hand, might need to pack a cheat sheet.

  3. Wishlists submitted to #GenCon. Now I can go so something useful while I wait, like putting on some pants

  4. Just bought two badges and started two wishlists. I guess I'm going to #GenCon this summer!

  5. Event registration for Gen Con opens this weekend. Spoiler, you likely won't get everything you want. Here are some tips, tricks and everything you need to know. #GenCon #BoardGames thegamesletter.com/gen-con-eve

  6. Hey #ttrpg fam, if you are going to #GenCon this year, you need to make your event wishlist -- registration is next weekend!

Anybody from Mastodon that wants to get together and say hi, lemme know.

  7. The Gen Con catalog is up! If you're looking for something to play, a lot of last year's most anticipated games are playable events in 2026. Check out the hotness from last year, and add a few to your wish list. #GenCon #BoardGames thegamesletter.com/the-20-most

  8. @Serok42

I am really bummed out that most rpg sessions have jumped from $4 to $20 just in the last couple of years.

I go to #GenCon to play back-to-back #ttrpg sessions but the cost makes me flinch now, hundreds of dollars more for the four days.

I suppose the solution is to run games instead but...ugh, I do that at home.

  9. Just ordered our badges for #GenCon 2026! Pro tip to any first time attendees: pay for the USPS delivery. Will Call sounds good, but gosh, it’s a lot of time standing in line when you could be gaming. Any other Mastodon #BoardGames folks planning on going?

  10. This week was my 20th anniversary of working at #GenCon and the team put together a cute collage from over the years.

It has certainly been a wild ride.

  11. Zuletzt beendetes Buch: #CriticalRole The #MightyNein Origins - Mollymauk Tealeaf. Ich bin late to the party was CR angeht, Animated & C4 up to date, bei C2 ist Caduceus Clay gerade live beim #GenCon #2018 :-) Ich persönlich gehe wie Molly übrigens auch gerne zur Chorprobe :-)

  13. #GenCon gets an army of #foodtrucks. U-Con gets one coffee truck (and no hashtag).

  14. I’ve never painted one of these ill-tempered spacemen from #Warhammer40K before. Another take-home mini started at one of the Games Workshop Hang Out and Hobby events at #GenCon. I kept the paint scheme classic and finished it up with proper (I think) decals to give the classic faction representation in my display case. #MiniaturePainting

  15. An #AgeOfSigmar Liberator, liberating liberally. #MiniaturePainting
One of the projects I carried home with me from the Games Workshop Hang Out and Hobby events at #GenCon.

  16. A promo of @atomicmassgames’s mascot Atom from the #MiniaturePainting hangout event at #GenCon.
Lemme tell you, I initially made a real hatchet job of the base coat because I was hasty and didn’t undercoat the yellow. It was… yikes. But after I got it home, I gave it some love and got it looking presentable.

  17. I used to date a blonde who loved #RenaissanceFestival potion bottles because "#GenCon never checks what's in them. They just think it's part of your costume." Just a little #cosplaying tip for you all.

  22. So another #GenCon in the books. A remarkably smooth one, especially considering the chaos of last year.

Unfortunately, several of our favorite games (Shipwreck Arcana, Smug Owls, Lord of the Rings Trick Taking)) walked away on Monday at our post-con game time, which really soured the liminal time before we head home.

  23. Still kinda reeling from #GenCon and now we're back to work on this lovely monday morning. Gonna play games with Tiddly and friends and try to tell as many stories from the con as I can.

  24. A few closing #GenCon thoughts…
    1. GenCon has a weird rep about being a place to shop but not to play games. Over 4 days, we played 16 games & some RPGs.
    2. Everything is either a new RPG system now or a TCG. Not sure what to make of it.
    3. Really lost my patience with Flatout Games (Cascadia) using GenCon to drum up Kickstarter enthusiasm. (Generally grumpy about KS)
    4. “I think I finally have enough dice.” @timcoffman, who didn’t buy any dice this year. It’s ok, I did my part. #BoardGames

  25. But, oh man, did that announcement make it clear that Critical Role and Darrington Press are going after the TTRPG crown (which makes it likely IMO that C4 will use Daggerheart). I don't think they have the economies of scale and infrastructure to actually dislodge WotC and D&D (but I can see them taking the #2 slot from Paizo), but it will be an interesting year nonetheless.
