I'm having trouble finding an outdoor #Zigbee switch. I have an outlet in the car port that I want to use home assistant to automate the turning on and off of holiday lights based on sun position.

My thoughts now: get a short NM cord, pull the wires into a IP resistance rated outdoor project box, and put a zigbee relay inline, and wire a plug output.

Anyone had to through this together before? I can find the relays easy, but assessing project boxes on the net is hard

I gave vaultwarden a try last year when I was also playing with the idea of going from iOS to grapheneOS. But I didn’t switch and it languished stale on the hardware.

Finally got MAS working on my Synapse server yesterday, the migration was well documented, even if that still felt like a convoluted step to go through, especially when taking into account bridges and their encryption

But now everything is working, and I found out my phone calls were not working because of some ingress miss configuration, not because of some MAS missing feature...

My main use of a Nextcloud instance is to manage my list of contacts. It allows me to edit them easily in a web interface, access them from anywhere and sync the list of contacts between my different email clients and smartphones.

Is there a self-hostable open source app that exists out there that does this and solely this? Feels like a lot to load a full Nextcloud just for this.

Appo, my 2012 Mac mini, needs a job. It draws too much power at idle to be a substitute for a SBC like a Raspberry Pi in a project, so it needs to actually DO something when it's powered on.

It's too slow to run macOS, and its max display resolution is 1920x1200. It runs Linux fine, but it's not exactly a speed demon. It would be fine as a server, but I don't need one of those either.

If you self host your own mastodon server and only have one account, is it possible to have the server's front page default to your user profile's page when other people visit? Instead of showing them the trending page, I want it to take them straight to my profile.

I also want to hide the trending page and any other pages that aren't my profile page from being accessible to the public. Doable? #mastodon #selfhost
