So it appears when you use the integrated system to share a password in 1password, it gives you a UI that disallows copying the key.

Instead,

A) It has a button to show the password in BIG FONT. Because if there's one thing safer than an invisible-to-eyes pasteboard, it's showing the password in huge letters when you work in an open-bullpen office floorplan

B) The password is still in the HTML. So it is de-facto "uncopyable to everyone who doesn't know what a browser inspector is."

You know... I've never used 1password before. My days of being deeply skeptical of it are certainly coming to a middle.

So it appears that #Microsoft is sunsetting their voice and sms gateways that run through their wretched #2FA boondoggle, the security colander of #MFA. They’re going to switch to #Passkeys and while I'm still very salty about the entire category of passkeys, how I suggested it years ago and it was all a big joke cause I was a ninny, and here we are, the ninny was right! Anyhow, so now that we've got a timer from #Microsoft, I've renewed my interest in #1Password.

Why did I wait so long to set this up? This is so good.

Does anybody know why both Bitwarden and 1Password are so behind on updating their Snaps?
Bitwarden's last update was in May 2026 and 1Password's in October 2025! That's a lot for such critical software and doesn't provide much confidence, unfortunately.

The other day I ran into a situation in #1Password where an item I had added to my vault via the desktop app was visible on the computer where I added it, and was visible in the app on a diffferent computer, but still wasn't visible in the web app several minutes after I'd added it. It magically showed up in the web app eventually without my doing anything (as far as I know) to provoke that.
Not ideal.

Earlier in this thread I wrote about how on Linux if you don't have the ptrace_scope kernel parameter set to 1, #1Password won't let you export your data; any attempt to export silently fails.
It turns out the app also requires to have ptrace_scope set to 1 if you want to attach a file to a 1Password item. Again, when you attempt to do it without having ptrace_scope set first, it fails completely silently with no explanation of what's wrong or what to do about it.
This is shitty UX.

I just learned a moment ago that you’re finally able to securely move #passkeys, passwords and other credentials between credential managers on Android via Credential Exchange Protocol. #Bitwarden, #1Password and #Dashlane have already added support. #1password: I have been a user for many years. I am recently finding numerous accessibilitity issues. JAWS 2026, Windows 11. I wanted to modify the default password generation options, and it took me almost an hour to get it to work. I listened to Jonathan Mosen's excellent presentation on AccessOn, but things that were working for him are not working for me. Control-backslash never works. Often hitting down arrow while in forms mode on a website fails to work also. I sent a report to [email protected].
