My first destination is only about an hour away, so I don't think I'm going to have many sailboat pictures for you. I've decided to be lazy today and try out a mooring ball at a place I've never been. I'm in #Bellingham Bay right now, southbound. #boating #sailing #PNW #SanJuanIslands

It appears that my client has a different idea of what our training cruise is going to be like than I have explained. They are interested in hiking and dining out. The #SanJuanIslands has lots of hiking, but dining out accessible by boat? Roche Harbor is our final destination; Friday Harbor was the only other place I could think of. I’m picking them up in Anacortes. What else is there? #PNW

On board Do It Now. Tide too low to risk a stop at Vendovi Island so we zipped right over to James Island. Current in our favor pushed us to 14 kn at 2800 RPM. Got here just as two boats left, so plenty of space at the dock. Had leftovers for lunch and now prepping for a hike. Weather kind of icky, but neither cold nor rainy. #boating #PNW #SanJuanIslands

I’m currently tied up to a mooring ball at Cypress Head on Cypress Island in the #SanJuanIslands. This just happens to be the same field of three mooring balls where I learned how to tie to a mooring ball solo about two years ago.
