My top pruned Thai chili pepper plant is now bushier than the others not top pruned & it has almost same amount of flowers. Currently there are 19 peppers developing on it. My other Thai chili peppers plants are also loaded with flowers & each one has over 20 peppers on them. I'll do a harvest weigh in comparison, when they're all picked 🙂✌️💚

I cut off 2 side shoots that had their own root system entangled with larger lavender root ball. Transplanted them into their own pots. Added some lavender cutting propagations into the pots too.

Winter carrots seeds were sowed. This is two of 8 pots that I sowed with more mini rainbow carrots & some finger carrots. I should be able to harvest these carrots in November/December. I will have round & finger carrots sowed outdoors in pots in October & November, moved indoors over Winter & those should be ready for harvest in January/February 🥕

I try to avoid LinkedIn unless I have to go there. But an AgTech investment post celebrating the "Monsanto playbook" as a model to replicate got under my nose badly enough that I had to write about it.

Nobody who knows my work would call me anti-tech. But there's a hard line between technology that increases farmer capability and technology that engineers farmer dependency. The Monsanto playbook is the second kind.

The playbook: own the genetics, bundle the chemicals, capture the data, engineer the debt. Charge the farmer for all of it. Call it innovation.

Also in there: corporate capture of agricultural knowledge, India's farmer suicide crisis, Dark Emu and native grass seeds, and why a loaf of bread can be a political act.

Tech4Good means the farmer gets more capable. Not more dependent.

Pluots /ˈpluːɒt/ are later generations of complex hybrid between the Japanese plum, Prunus salicina (providing the greater amount of parentage), and the apricot, Prunus armeniaca.[6][7] The fruit's exterior has smooth skin closely resembling that of a plum. "Organised in collaboration with #FundaciónAlimentaris and #JóvenesPorElClima, the workshop was part of the participatory process of the National Participation Program (NEP), an initiative aimed at gathering diagnostics, experiences, and proposals from local communities to influence public policy. Its goal is to collectively adapt the international Earth4All model to local realities. The model warns of the urgent need to move away from the current path, described as '#TooLittleTooLate,' and to move toward a '#GiantLeap' centred on #social and #EnvironmentalJustice. This transformative agenda is structured around five turnarounds: #EradicatingPoverty, #ReducingInequality, #EmpoweringWomen, transforming #FoodSystems, and driving the energy transition.

#RegenerativeAgriculture Goes Mainstream

"The world’s hottest year on record may also mark the beginning of the end for carbon-intensive, conventional farming. Several factors have converged to bring regenerative practices into the mainstream, while a new study demonstrates that farmers can produce just as much food while improving land productivity by transitioning away from conventional practices.

"#RegenerativeFarming first hit headlines as part of '#LivingSystemsThinking' in the 1960s, later gaining interest among health-conscious foodies when the concept was popularized by food author #MichaelPollan. Today, techniques such as #CoverCropping and integrated pest management are being embraced not only by #environmental activists but also by multinational food companies. The difference is that now, this approach is celebrated for its practical effectiveness in maintaining a consistent food supply in an era of #ClimateChange-driven supply shocks."
