  2. No visit to #NorthDevon/#Exmoor would be complete without a visit to the Valley of Rocks. Rather than settle for the view from the valley floor or car park, this walk gives a high vantage view and includes Lynton an easy coast path & a dramatic gorge. See happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Devon

  3. This #NorthDevon walk is along a lovely stretch of coast including Baggy Point, a dramatic headland owned by the National Trust. It has Croyde Bay on one side and Woolacombe and Putsborough sands on the other. Details at happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Devon

  6. The Valley of Rocks, a dramatic ‘U’ shaped valley on the northern fringe of #Exmoor is popular for a quick car visit to the rocks but this circular walk adds a ridge, a spectacular gorge and the pretty town of Lynton. Details at tinyurl.com/2ft6savh

  8. Welcome back to New Coast Kitchen in Croyde

We are a contemporary British restaurant that serves modern dishes that emphasis great produce and ingredients. Wholesome cooking from young, exciting and ambitious chefs focused on creating tasty hearty meals in an environment that is friendly, welcoming and super efficient.

Managed by owner operators the restaurant is a real labour of love and customer centric where positive customer experiences is our number one goal.

New Coast Kitchen is based in the heart of Croyde Bay in North Devon. We work very hard to offer our customers fresh, high quality dishes served in a precise modern style.

Croyde is very much a seaside holiday destination and has an array of great family friendly pubs and eateries which has allowed us to really commit to offering holiday makers and locals a very different dining experience for the area. We constantly challenge ourselves to improve and push standards across the business every day with the goal always being to offer our customers the best of everything.

Our kitchen is run by our Executive Chef Martin Baylis who is a young, talented, and exciting chef. Originally from Worcester Martin moved to North Devon 6 years ago and has worked in some amazing restaurants both locally and across the country. His vision and passion for offering top quality dishes consistently is the backbone for our restaurant and has given us a strong foundation to create something that we hope many people enjoy and will continue to visit now and in the future. Recently James Checkley joined us as Head Chef.

We aim to keep both the food and drinks menus fresh and exciting by making numerous changes throughout the year to align with seasons, introducing different combinations of flavours and as we uncover new local suppliers offering the best produce the South West can offer.

We are delighted to welcome everyone of all ages at New Coast Kitchen. Due to the size of our restaurant and the style of service we are sadly unable to accommodate highchairs and pushchairs and we do not have the facilities to welcome very young children. If your little one is happy to sit at the table and dine from our full menu, we would love to serve them with you. We do not allow dogs inside the restaurant at any time.

To make a booking please visit our website where our full menu and terms and conditions can be found.

  9. Still suffering from a bit of a cold, so I checked the online mapping to cut some distance off my usual route on this effort.

It turns out that the coast path is now called the "King Charles III England Coast Path". Weird, but a lovely autumn morning to crunch through the leaves with Aurora

  10. What a splendid afternoon out with Dave B in North Devon. Starting with the White-rumped Sandpiper at Northam Burrows CP; a beautiful looking bird and my first in #Devon.

Then around the corner to Fremington where I refound the Slavonian Grebe after trudging along the beach - it stayed close into the bank of the river Taw. A Glossy Ibis as we drove out past the Pill.
