Sadly, #fedora38 doesn't play nicely on my #MacBookPro 2010. #Fedora36 worked out of the box (once RPMfusion was installed!) #Apple left my Mac behind years ago hence switching to #Linux but it seems it's goodbye to Fedora too! Fear not, #Linuxmint saves the day! It may be Windows-Like but I was going off #Gnome44 anyway. It's Rock-Solid, fast, built-in #Flatpak and has no problem powering a large external display! Good job @linuxmint

Well, the #desktop is on its way back to being up and running... I'm typing on it.
I think I know what happened, but I'm not ready to commit to it before I share.
At any rate, Got my browser back (and all my bookmarks, and open tabs!) up and running, some other things configured... I need to install some daemons yet, and get them configured, but, luckily, I can just pull the configs from the old drives (all the data is there!)
I did switch from #Fedora36 back to #ubuntu mostly because I had that install media handy. Once I'm sure I've got all the data I want to keep off the old drives, I may set up a dual-boot to Fedora 37.. but right now I'm just concerned about salvaging my data from the previous install.

CW: Question Grub + luks + fedora36 + azerty

My #XFCE on #Fedora36 has started playing a super-annoying drip sound (it's actually called drip.ogg, I found it!) any time you hit backspace or stuff like that. I managed to disable it in terminal and Geany, but it's still there in other places (e.g., when you CTRL+F things in Firefox). Unfortunately XFCE doesn't have any setting for that: I suspect GTK is responsible here somehow. Is there any proper way to disable this without brutally nuking the sound from the file system? (which I'll do 😁 )

I decided to install my #FedoraServer on my #NAS
I wanted to install the one based on #Fedora37 but it failed, so going with #Fedora36 for now.

@rmflight
- Dell with #fedora36 Gnome
- #pinebookpro with #ManjaroArmLinux #KDE
- Another Dell with #openSuSEThumbleweed KDE
All support the trackball out of the box.
That's with the USB dongle. Didn't try Bluetooth connection yet... -
@j3rn that's probably true. I tried out #antiX-22 last night, whilst being perfectly happy with #Fedora36 #LXQt
But only the touchscreen pointer worked, so I'm probably not going to invest more time in that ✌️😂
But I'm personally looking to get the best usage out of my hardware, so the less RAM & CPU apps use, the better. Considering the have the features I want, naturally.

#fedora36 #fedora users, FYI there was a kernel update (5.18) during the last few days that blows up #virtualbox, due to lack of #virtualbox kernel modules. Be warned. A temporary fix is to select an older kernel in #grub on bootup.

@JoshStrobl I have to imagine this is a Silverblue or Rawhide issue as I have Element open most days without issue and have 20 apps total installed via Flatpak on #Fedora36

@JoshStrobl I see from the pictures this is the submission of @BuddiesOfBudgie to rawhide… any guess on what the timeline might be for the back porting to #Fedora36 ? I’m asking as someone who has no clue how long this stuff takes and is simply excited to give it a go.

#fedora36 is not happy about my #virtualbox version pre-upgrade. Has anyone successfully upgraded and continued to use #vagrant? dont want to have to rollback.

A question for the #python developers out there... Have you upgraded to #Ubuntu2204 or #Fedora36 ? How has your experience been?
I tried Ubuntu 22.04 and I'm having a lot of issues with virtual environments, I might need to downgrade or switch distros altogether 😕

Damn, just playing around with the latest #Fedora36 beta and #Gnome42
This is fast, like "the interface of my vm runs smoother and apps launch quicker than on my main pc, that vm is running on" - fast.
Next up I will test out the new rdp based remote access. If the only performs half as well as what I have seen so far, it is byebye #Ubuntu and hello #fedora
