@workingonit Mashed a bunch of OE phonetics into the brain. No two experts pronounce the soft g the same way, it is maddening. Did almost no French at all.
Still have my new toothbrush.

@workingonit Skipped a couple of updates during my masto break but my main OE textbook arrived, so I’m noodling away. (Been lagging on French, though.)

@workingonit Bunch of Old English and a little French yesterday and today, though part of the OE continues to be infrastructure and materials eval.
Used the wrong toothbrush; real Inspector Clouseau vibes.

@workingonit The only things I would ask is to please be actively good and respectful to each other—and please take the group name out of extended conversations with individuals so it doesn't get too chatty to serve its intended purpose. <3
(I'm working on two human languages, but this is for anything you want to prod yourself into doing daily.)

Yesterday, I asked in a locked post if anyone wanted to pair up for lightweight daily check-ins as I ramp my own language-learning back up, and *lots* of people did, so maybe this is worth trying at slightly larger scale.
This group — @workingonit — should boost whatever is sent to it, and you can follow it to see the whole conversation. (I'll also use a hashtag for redundancy.)
I'll post sixish days/week—feel free to ping with your own check-in or mute if you're not interested!

Well, the #desktop is on its way back to being up and running... I'm typing on it.
I think I know what happened, but I'm not ready to commit to it before I share.
At any rate, Got my browser back (and all my bookmarks, and open tabs!) up and running, some other things configured... I need to install some daemons yet, and get them configured, but, luckily, I can just pull the configs from the old drives (all the data is there!)
I did switch from #Fedora36 back to #ubuntu mostly because I had that install media handy. Once I'm sure I've got all the data I want to keep off the old drives, I may set up a dual-boot to Fedora 37.. but right now I'm just concerned about salvaging my data from the previous install.
