Hmm, something changed in a recent #Fedora 38 Gnome update. It no longer shows when Bluetooth devices are connected in the status tray so I keep leaving my headphones turned on, so they go flat or miss notification sounds when I've taken them off and forgot to power them off.

FWIW, while I was troubleshooting the "cannot update pipewire-codec-aptx" on my box, the necessary update to #PipeWire 1.01 magically appeared.
In case you had the same error for weeks as I did, try now.

I'm getting it again. After a reboot opening a file dialog in Gnome cause the app to hang for a period of time.
After a while this stops happening, but I'd like to know what the cause is.

TIL: #Fedora39 updated its #ext4 mke2fs defaults compared to #Fedora38, also adding `orphan_file`
I found that out, because unlike Fedora, which brings mke2fs 1.47.0, #LineageOS builds use 1.45.4 which doesn't support this newer option 🙃

As a reminder, @fedora 37 is going EOL tomorrow, December 5th!
Please make sure to upgrade to either Fedora 38 or Fedora 39 to stay on a supported version!

I had #Fedora38, #KDE spin installed on my laptop, upgraded to #Fedora39 and since then KDE can't run in #X11 mode anymore only #Wayland and that means my extra monitor for the laptop, a #4K plugged via #HDMI is sluggish as hell, almost leaving mouse trails. It was usable in X11 but not any more.
Thinking I might need to reinstall from scratch since the upgrade seems to have broken something =/

New game room's gonna be great for #twitch #streaming - 3 inputs on monitor show console (capture device hdmi out) top left, PC display running #OBS on #fedora38 to the right & a 2nd screen for the PC bottom left. My EVGA capture device is OBS certified but won't produce any audio unless you unplug/replug AFTER OBS is trying to display it. Not sure if that's an issue with Linux/fedora, OBS or my capture device. Hopefully it just works after I build a new desktop next week & install #Fedora39

@adamw been daily driving #Fedora38 on my laptop for months and the parts for a new desktop will arrive on Tuesday (12th gen i5, 16GB ddr4, rx6650 xt). #Fedora Will be the main OS but I'll make little partitions for windows and a gaming focus distro like #batocera - should I wait and for #Fedora39 ?

@freechelmi I have only used #fedora38 so far but according to this @itsfoss article, you can upgrade to a newer version in one click. If this is the case, i should be able to upgrade to #fedora39 when it comes out.

Finally got my hardware issues with the PC at home worked out. That box definitely lived up to its namesake (Marvin, as in the paranoid android from Hitchhiker's Guide) but it looks to be running fine now. First big test was moving to #Fedora38 (#KDEPlasma spin, of course) and it worked like a charm.
I'm happily back in my favorite OS, and all it took was a month of downtime and 3 separate RMAs, lol.

Antes de cambiarme a fedora, usaba entre mis app habituales, linssid y ipscan. Y ahora en fedora no estan empaquetadas en rpm y tampoco en flatpack. Solo se puede usar paqueteria APT. No se si habra alternativas a estas, llevo un bune rato buscando y no veo nada . Si alguin sabe y me puede ayudar lo agradeceria.

Sadly, #fedora38 doesn't play nicely on my #MacBookPro 2010. #Fedora36 worked out of the box (once RPMfusion was installed!) #Apple left my Mac behind years ago hence switching to #Linux but it seems it's goodbye to Fedora too! Fear not, #Linuxmint saves the day! It may be Windows-Like but I was going off #Gnome44 anyway. It's Rock-Solid, fast, built-in #Flatpak and has no problem powering a large external display! Good job @linuxmint
