Elon Musk is wilfully ignorant and spreading Russian propaganda.
And yes, this sounds very much like he’s defending his aid of Russia which helped Russia murder Ukrainian civilians.

“Troianovski and Lipton report that a project designed to liquefy natural gas in Alaska and export it would not only use Russian technology but also be funded with money from a Russian company close to Putin that is currently under U.S. sanctions. That company, Novatek, told the reporters that it is planning to take “minority shareholder” status in the Polar LNG project, a move the reporters call “a striking effort by the Russian energy giant to seek ownership of American gas production.”
U.S. sanctions against Novatek mean Polar LNG would need special permission from the Treasury Department to use Novatek’s equipment. The Graham Act sanctions bill Congress recently passed specifically targets Novatek because of its ties to Putin—a likely reason that Trump just waived the new sanctions just two days before they were to go into effect.”

1,300 acres illegally cleared because Google believes laws don’t apply to it, and has complete disdain for the state of and survivability of the human race and our only home planet.
No, friend, Google’s services are not worth it.
Unplug it and let it die.

“Trump’s hostility to the press is also increasing:
–He is now attacking reporters–shouting at them, getting in their faces, threatening them–at every press briefing and Q&A session.
–Trump to Kaitlin Collins of CNN: “You don’t know what you’re talking about. ; You’re a dummy. You’re a low IQ person. You’re a dummy and you work for CNN.”
–Trump to Karen Travers of ABC: “Are you a stupid person? Who do you work for? You’re a stupid person. And by the way, your network is the worst of all.” (Note: In both instances, the reporters had asked about Trump’s removing sanctions on Russia, a question he obviously doesn’t want to discuss.)
–Trump threw Andrew Feinberg (who asked him a question he didn’t like the other day) out of the White House pool on Thursday… Trump told him: “I don’t know who the hell you are, but you better be careful.”
–The White House is demanding that Politico retract three stories about Susie Wiles “or face the consequences.””
-
“The other big story of the week was Trump’s increasing violence toward reporters and protesters:
–One thing that’s been very clear this past week is that Trump’s violent impulses are becoming greater and greater. He is now encouraging his rally goers to beat up protesters.
–There were at least a dozen hecklers at Trump’s rally Wednesday night, and Trump got angrier and angrier at each interruption. Rallygoers pounded on one protester, hitting him repeatedly, and Trump said, “That was great, man. Wow! I loved that.”
–The night before, Trump had said he used to tell supporters to “beat the hell” out of protesters, but learned not to say things like that. “Today I say, ‘Please don’t hurt them.’ This way the press can’t get me.”
–Heather Delaney Reese; “He told everyone watching that he wasn’t trying to protect his fellow Americans from violence; he was just trying to avoid criticism from the media… “

Worth it to see a criminal-former-president’s son get the verbal takedown he deserves from a working class leader. In case anyone’s taking notes.

“In his closing midterm pitch to voters, Trump has not been subtle. If Republicans win, you get paid. If not, tough luck.
Trump’s Bribe State is a bewildering mix of empty promises and real benefits—and punishments. It is easy to dismiss it, but worth taking seriously the mechanics of how it is being built, which involves a framework that allows automated payments to some families, even as the Trump administration is adding burdens to the most vulnerable. It also provides a promise to billionaires—that they can use the Bribe State to buy off dissent.”

“What makes the case even more circumspect is that Alaska's Supreme Court has already ruled on the matter, affirming that retired teacher Daniel J. Sullivan can remain on the 2026 U.S. Senate ballot alongside Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan.
The real shock of what had transpired was that Trump fully admitted he ordered the Justice Department, an agency that was always historically and culturally deemed off-limits to pressure from the president, to file the suit.
Trump openly and glibly boasted to reporters on Friday, saying...
"I'm the one that said 'do it'"
Nixon would blush at the way Trump has whored out the Department of Justice.”
-
“Donald Trump on Friday ordered the U.S. Department of Justice to preemptively sue Alaska to block the state from certifying the results of its upcoming Senate race if the Republican candidate loses.
The reason behind his unprecedented interference in the race stems from claims that voters might be confused because a candidate on the ballot, Dan J. Sullivan Jr., has a similar name to the incumbent Republican senator, Dan S. Sullivan, running for the Alaskan Senate seat.
The DOJ's lawsuit, filed in federal court in Anchorage on Thursday, states the Trump administration will contest the results of the November 3rd midterm elections if the Republican loses the race to Democrat Mary Peltola.
The DOJ goes on to ask a judge to block the certification of an outcome... “

Joel Riddle, the chief executive officer of the company, Polar LNG, resigned when he learned that the funding came not from the United Arab Emirates, as he had been told, but from Russia. “It’s not only unlawful, but it’s not in the U.S. interest to have Russian technology controlling the commercialization of Arctic gas in the North Slope,” Riddle told the New York Times reporters. At least two other Polar LNG executives have also resigned, citing their concerns about the Russian financing.
Talks about gas in Alaska were joined with talks about the sale of parts of Russian energy giant Lukoil to the U.S. government and investors, some of whom are tied to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy—and business partner—Steve Witkoff. Also involved in the Alaska project is Gentry Beach, who was a college friend of Donald Trump Jr.”

I voted. Seven minutes total from walking in the doors to walking out: poll worker at the doors directed me to the correct table (alphabetical), poll worker at the table checked my voter registration card and my driver’s license against the roll, handed me the form and explained (make only one selection for each of three categories), I had to wait for an open privacy screen voting “booth”, and then I had to wait while 4 people ahead of me had their paper form submitted to the tabulator. Saw that it was accepted and I stepped out of the building. Then I spent an equal amount of time talking to a dog owner.
When people want democracy to work, elections can be made to work for the people voting rather than the people who hold power.

Trump is looting the US and selling it for parts.
“The New York Times reported that the Trump family secretly made a deal to allow Russians to drill in Alaska if the Russian company made a $25 billion investment in various Trump proxies.”

All of a sudden Trump is very interested in the Alaska race, and has already sued to try and preemptively stop certification of the election if the Democratic candidate wins.
