One thing about these newfangled digital mixing is that it’s going to auto adjust tack speed when you add an additional source.
See, with records this was a little more manageable. Sometimes a song would end up getting spun a little faster or slower, but the beat was consistent and the mix sounded great.
The digital shite we have now wants to slow a 78 down to a 72 which, if you have any kind of ear, hurts. You can audibly hear the deflation.

1984 U.S. pressingSince everyones’s all “spaced out” with space fever, this seemed appropriate.
The soundtrack is great, but I’d like to use this opportunity to defend 2010 as a film.
It’s actually a pretty good movie, and an engaging continuation of the story; what happened to the vessel, Bowman, and what went wrong.
It may be more conventional and dialogue heavy, but holds its own after Kubrick set a near impossible standard.
The soundtrack to 2010 is less abstract, but suspenseful and emotional. Also very different than the original film’s soundtrack of pre-existing classical, but very effective for the sequel.

Quelqu'un a déjà utilisé un Ikea Kallax 1×2 renversé comme si c'était un bac de disquaire, où on peut « feuilleter » les vinyles, au dessus d'un Kallax 2×2 par exemple, pour faire un meuble pour vinyles plus sympa ?
Le Kallax 2×2 fait 39 cm de profondeur, et le Kallax 1×2 basculé ne ferait que 41 cm de profondeur, moins que l'épaisseur de son cadre.
Ça semble jouable et malin, mais je ne trouve aucun exemple d'un tel usage dans les Ikea Hacks courants, ça m'interpèle… 😅

( +7” single @ 33rpm)I forgot how much I like this album. I found this in a used bin a few days ago, and tonight’s spin of it is probably the first time I’ve heard ANY of it since it came out.
The little Dutch band that could. They had a pretty great run. A handful of really cool, fun records, and they got to tour with a bunch of really great bands.
Palomine was the big one, and the album that most people who witnessed the band in real time back then remember.
The whole first side of this album slays, but it does lose a little momentum near the end, minus the excellent cover of Sebadoh’s “Healthy Sick”.
This is the only time it’s ever been released on vinyl since its ORIGINAL pressing, which also came with the 7”, making it a true reissue in every detail.

People who bought the OG singles know that these songs are vital and exciting, and finally having those never released songs (which have been around forever) is a gift.
There’s nothing else left to say about OK COMPUTER that hasn’t already been said. A once-in-a-lifetime album that will be talked about for generations.

- “Behave Yourself” was originally the A side, and it was on Volt. DJs preferred “Green Onions” so they rereleased it on Stax just a couple months later with the A/B labeling reversed
- Lewie Steinberg on bass. Duck Dunn didn’t join the group until 1965 -
Ok, last one before food. Something about Spin Doctors just clicks with me. I absolutely love them. Chris Barron’s unique song writing and unique voice just resonates. One of my all time favourite musicians.
