Two things drive me bonkers when #driving in #Pula, #Istria, #Croatia:
1) People like to drive on my rear bumper, no matter how fast I go.
2) When I’m passing cars, they ALWAYS accelerate when I’m next to them. It’s beyond annoying on highways and outright dangerous on local roads!It reminds me of a bumper sticker I once saw: “Drive safe, drive a tank!”
I’m tempted to get one. Or at least a Humvee. -

Veľká pohoda vybrať si v takmer prázdnej kaviarni miesto nad arénou, ako VIP lóža.

V #Rovinj zostaneme aj na obed. Chrám na kopci s výhľadom, odkiaľ bol pohľad ponad strechy aj v minulom poste, a prekvapivo zelenou záhradou, a celkom veľké námestie, ktoré za jedným rohom skrýva nie až tak starý oblúk. Volá sa Balbiho a je z roku 1679. Čo ale prekvapilo, že počas túlania sa uličkami na nás zrazu vyskočila reštaurácia s Michelin ⭐. Celkovo musím povedať, že Chorvátsko už dávno nie je len o pizza_pasta_pljeskavica podnikoch. Počet výborných reštaurácii narástol.

Views this afternoon from #Savudrija #Salvore, the northwestern tip of #Istria 🇭🇷: ships to, and from, #Koper 🇸🇮 and #Trieste 🇮🇹 are passing in front of the #Dolomites mountain range, which is about 100 kms away. Only the autumn months provide these views.

Croatian police are searching for three Ukrainian citizens suspected of setting multiple ships on fire at the #Medulin port on the Istrian peninsula, Croatian media reported on Aug. 17.
A fire on the night of May 14 destroyed 22 boats at the Medulin port. No people were injured, and police in #Istria launched an investigation into the fire.

Our holidays in #Istria usually come with a visit to the #Parenzana trail. This is a hiking and cycling route, built on the trackbed of the disused #Trieste 🇮🇹 and #Koper 🇸🇮 to #Poreč 🇭🇷 narrow gauge railway line which dates back to Habsburg times. Some mileposts are still there.
