Finally extended my night stand with a white board, cut to size and some shelf brackets. Bridging the free gap this way, rather than an extra table, allows the vacuum robot better access and means less dust. 👍
The IKEA #Kallax, with their hollow walls, did not make this easy though. I used some very long screws so they would bite on both sides of the hollow wall. If that turns out to be insufficient, I can still use different ones and a nut on the inside.

Quelqu'un a déjà utilisé un Ikea Kallax 1×2 renversé comme si c'était un bac de disquaire, où on peut « feuilleter » les vinyles, au dessus d'un Kallax 2×2 par exemple, pour faire un meuble pour vinyles plus sympa ?
Le Kallax 2×2 fait 39 cm de profondeur, et le Kallax 1×2 basculé ne ferait que 41 cm de profondeur, moins que l'épaisseur de son cadre.
Ça semble jouable et malin, mais je ne trouve aucun exemple d'un tel usage dans les Ikea Hacks courants, ça m'interpèle… 😅

Auf dem Rückweg kurzer Stopp und noch #Hemden und #Flanell-Jacke im Sale gefunden 👍 direkt noch ein paar #Socken dazu - gab ja keine zu Weihnachten 😂Und gesehen: #Kallax könnte ich mir auch liefern lassen 🤔 ich mein, ist schon ein „Happening“ nach Kassel zu #IKEA, aber … 😅 na mal schauen

En l'absence du mari et des filles, je m'étais prévu un bon gros programme de rangement et de tri. Et je m'y tiens !
Aujourd'hui, je devais réaménager la chambre et le lit bureau de Claude, avec le démontage d'une étagère #kallax et j'ai tout réussi ! Je suis allée quasi au bout de la tâche, sans que mon #tdah ne vienne m'arrêter en milieu d'après-midi 💪🏻💪🏻
Sauf que maintenant, j'ai un nouveau problème : elle a beaucoup trop de rangements 😂 (vides) mais sans que sa chambre ne fasse "zen" et épurée.

Jetzt haben Doc Browns DeLorean und der Lego GameBoy auch eine angemessene Beleuchtung in ihrem Kallax-Fach bekommen. Natürlich verbunden mit einer schaltbaren Steckdose, damit es auch ins Smart Home integriert ist! 🤓

I'm happy to use IKEA's KALLAX cubes for everything. It feels good to be back to cube life. Everything can be measured in cubes.
It's great for evaluating hobbies too:
- How many kallax cubes would it take to store everything related to that?
- I currently have 1 cube of free space for taking on one additional hobby, otherwise I need to exchange a cube.
Example is sewing. Sewing takes up 2 cubes:
- cube 1: 2 organizational boxes worth of sewing stuff (needles, zippers, pin cushions, buttons, measuring tape, etc), the sewing machine and it's foot pedal
- cube 2: all items in need of sewing as well as scraps and future sewing projects.
Bicycle related items take up 1 cube:
- locks, bells, cell phone holder, extra handle bar basket, hand pump, bike repair kit
Electronics take up 1 cube:
- soldering kit, bread boards, wires, coin cell batteries, clips, resistors, etc
Gardening takes up 2 cubes:
- pots and and various items for planting (little shovel, gardening gloves, etc)
- soil, fertilizer, seeds, clay balls, wax coating spray
If I wanted to take on a new hobby, let's say wood working, I'd need to figure out how much of another hobby I wanted to cut down on, or completely eliminate in order to make space for that hobby. Do I want to garden less? Maybe I don't sew as much as I used to?
Kallax life is a great life because you can evaluate exactly where you stand on all aspects of your stored life. They even have a bunch of different inserts for doors and shelving to further organize. Absolutely love cube life.
