One of my favorite shit post videos probably got copyright claimed. It's the old ECW theme song playing against a cheesey work place safety video as various actors do incredibly unsafe things to teach potential employees about safety... so I'm recreating it from memory and grabbing other safety videos from various eras.
Why it's funny if you're under 40 and not getting it - this was the theme song the accidents were set to

🤔 (people who are not clear on the idea of "sea level rise")
"...The Balboa Fun Zone saw the brunt of the flooding, despite sandbags that were placed in the area ahead of the high tide. The water came in from the bay side of the peninsula, which signifies that sand berms erected on the ocean side of the peninsula kept even more water from coming in...."

💔😭 These empty pots are breaking my heart. My children, Jouri and Hamza, are hungry, and I have nothing to put on their plates. What kind of mother must watch her babies suffer from hunger, unable to help them?
🆘 Please, don’t let their cries go unheard. Help us find bread before another night of hunger. Even sharing this post could save us. 🇵🇸💔

“In a sex-segregated era when women and men spent much of their time in separate spaces, the Astor House Ladies’ Ordinary provided the rare place where a sit-down meal could be had for a solo female traveler, a group of women friends, or a mixed-gender party.
“This 1843 breakfast menu speaks to 19th century New York’s same-sex dining culture. The offerings probably weren’t much different than the menu in the men’s dining room. But if you were an upper-class woman in search of a morning meal, here’s what you could order.
“Options abound, with an emphasis on meat and seafood—like boiled mutton, boiled tongue, and the mysterious ‘small birds, Italian style.’”

I had a weekend with colleagues in Köln a couple of weeks ago. Just enough to get a sense of a place, not enough to really explore.
So now Köln is on my shortlist of cities to visit. If only to spend a day exploring the underground stations of the Köln Stadtbahn.

I've been casting my grief across the socials--I'm on 7 platforms--and I'm trying to figure out why.
Maybe I want the world to know someone beautiful and joyous is gone and putting away her life hurts so much.
Maybe I just need a place to scream.
Today I start on papers.

Lions of Firenze.
Everywhere you turn in Florence there's a lion.
1. One of the Medici Lions. Originally placed at the Villa Medici in Rome, now guarding the statues in Piazza Della Signoria. This is the Vacca lion created between 1570-90 to accompany the 2nd century Fancelli lion. In the backgroud you see the copy of the David statue, replacing the original when moved inside the Accademia.
2. A high relief at the base of a bronze statue in Borgo San Iacopo.
3. A pillar base in the chuch Santa Maria Novella.
4. In the yard at Palazzo Medici Riccardi.#marble #stone #Fierenze #Florence #Florens #statue #renaissance
