Back to it! Halloween's many branching tortured attempts at different continuities may be confusing but I read comic books. I'm used to reboots from big corporate comics. Halloween is also owned by multiple corporate masters but perhaps another way to view this, other than a cash grab for nostalgia, is how legends and myths can have multiple contradictor paths for a character.
We watched the extended cut. I don't think it's bad but there's certainly way too much exposition given. I also wondered if the larger body count was too much until Laurie gave her soliloquy. Whether she was correct or speculating, the idea that Michael becomes mythological and harder to reconcile with a human the more he kills has multiple meanings in terms of the type of trauma involved to become someone who kills and is hunted at the same time. I'm still more in love with the Thorn trilogy continuity but this had its moments. Messy but memorable. Firemen scene for sure.
