Well…that, as they say, is 48 minutes of my life I’m never getting back.
If you want to listen to #RogerWaters reciting spoken word/poetry over the top of some down-tempo covers of #DSotM, go for it.
This has none of the energy or edge that Is This The Life… (or the original Dark Side, for that matter) surprised many of us with. It feels very sad and mournful, and is missing Waters’s trademark bitterness and spite for the most part.
I gave it a chance, but doubt I’ll go back for a second go

Last week, #Pitchfork gave #PinkFloyd Wish You Were Here a 10.0. As someone who mostly failed to appreciate punk and new wave in the late 70s because my tribe were still into progressive rock, I have to dissent from this.
I'd give 10.0 to The Wall and DSOTM (Pitchfork rated it lower at 9.3), but I've always found WYWH a mixed bag. The title track is a favourite, and I'm still happy to sit through the Shine On suites, but Have a Cigar and Welcome To The Machine are grim AOR nonsense.
Fight me.
