I recently printed a hook for my #HSW but forgot that I rotated mine, which is against the standard, because I wanted to alignment to be different. So naturally, it was 45 degrees offset🙆♂️
So, I designed and printed my own today. I am quite proud and just love the whole red ascetic that I have going on!

I actually like #PEP695, I've been meaning to use and implement generic classes more, especially when developing #opensource packages that are extendable.

The #PrusaMini uses dusl rods, which are only fixed on one side. So I don't think it would be too bad. And 600g weight is normal for a hotend.
#247printing had one video where all of hjs hotends he measured were between 400g and 800g, which surprised me. My hotend, for example, is 400g after removing the metal cover.

I used it when I was busy with my #datastructures course. All of the #JetBrains software has advanced debugging tools.
So I used #PyCharm for #Python, #CLion for C++ and #InteliJ for #Java. It allowed me to debug connections and relationships in data structures.
Today, I wouldn't personally use it because I know those stuff now, and I have my own workflow now. I never step through code anymore, I don't even use the debugging in #VScode anymore.
When required, I am a degenerate "console.log" debugger.

I did it again!
So I created #MastoBot, a generic #Python Mastodon bot that allows anyone to create a bot.
I created a few versions, and I use it for @3dprinting. But naturally, knowing how to implement it and developing functions, I need a use case.
So after a discussion this morning. I spent the entire day writing @Python. Yes, I did it again.
However, this one now has a built-in #webscraper to cross-post new posts fromhttps://discuss.python.org/, because why not.
This @Python required a few things, and updates were made to #MastoBot. I had to make it even more generic, implement an overkil datastore with #Redis, and extend the config system.
@Python will behave exactly like @3dprinting with the added feature of crossposts. These posts will, however, be "follower only" posts, to not polute #Python and just flood everything initially.
The bot will #boost parent posts, allowing for threads and discussions to be created.
The source code will be out tomorrow, just cleaning up.

"Why We Left The Cloud"
Recently watched this video by #ThePrimeTime on #Youtube, and his hot-take 🔥 was that they were using #Ruby, and half of their pain was caused by this.
I have no experience with Ruby at all and most probably won't even recognize it if I were to read it.
If Ruby is such a bottleneck and inefficient, why did #Mastodon :mastodon: use Ruby for its implementation?
I know Ruby is often praised for servers and backends, especially APIs, but we have many solutions for this in #Python :python: , which I wouldn't recommend, but #Go :golang: and #Rust.
Does anyone have opinions or sources for this statement?

I am running #Klipper, and I removed my screen from my printer. But I have to say I miss my screen and want to install #KlipperScreen and a decent 5" screen.
My printer is controlled by my #RaspberryPi, and the Klipper #Android app is great, but I would sometimes just want to do something directly on the printer.

People always say that #Linux doesn't play nicely with hardware or software.
My friend has a hardrive that stopped working. I really thought the thing was dead. It was making that jank ticking sound of a dying hard drive. You know what I am talking about.
So I took it out of their PC, placed it in a #SATA HDD dock, and plugged it into my Linux laptop.
You'll never guess. #PopOS detected a #Windows hardrive people who were ready to throw away and lose all their data.
Nothing was corrupted. The hardrive was just very close to its end.
Do you want to tell me #LinusTorvald added patience to an operating system

#Google’s nightmare “Web Integrity API” wants a #DRM gatekeeper for the web | #ArsTechnica
Oh, great! Seems we have a 180° turn, and we are now doing the #NetNeutrality 2.0 discussion. Honestly, I always wonder how they think they could possibly implement something like this?
Do they think no one in the tech world will notice and not resist something like this? Do they think this would just result in a 100% conversion rate and every single person would uinstall #Firefox and #Chrome would be the #Netscape of 2023?
Now I understand why they removed the dislike button from #Youtube before they pitched this idea. This is such a #Zuckerberg idea. And the worst part is, he'll probably slap his sticker on this and we'll have this argument again in 6 month's where he'll want to limit the internet to people having VR headsets and being in the #metaverse.

The price surprised me, and this is by far a more enterprise-grade printer. But I don't know if I am even sold on the idea.
I've always wanted a #Idex printer, mostly for water soluble supports or even doing the PETG-PLA trick #Modbot has suggested before. But with the relative price of the #Bambulab #AMS, isn't it just better to get that? Because here you are now just limited to 2 colors, and the AMS could one day be upgraded and also easily extended.
So I wonder if Idex will be killed before it even went big ever? #SnapMaker are leaders in the space, and technically, this isn't an Idex because the nozzles are on the same head.
If creality wants this to be successful in the target group they are pricing it at, their software needs to improve.
I think most people can admit that similar to Apple, the thing which makes the BambuLab printers so good is the software and build quality.

A fun experiment I am in the mood to try is to take my entire #Redis implementation of my code running in #Docker and just replacing it with #IPFS.
I currently can't imagine any advantages, I mean, come on, it's Redis. But I just thought it would be a fun experiment to try. An IPFS implementation would allow for transaparency of user data, which is stored with decentralized storage similar to #gunDB.
Although the same propogation of network data with #gunDB wouldn't be the same and the native security and encryption of gunDB would be nice, I just want to mess around with the idea.
With Redis, relationships between sets are created with primary and secondary keys and referencing other records. But IPFS could give the same behavior as a standard #ORM and something like #SQL.
Also, I've wanted to benchmark IPFS for such usage before and because I know the Redis speeds now, 15k commands/s, this would be interesting to see even just in Docker and on my LAN network.

#Python compatibility is very important for me! I am not going to learn a new language that would get no support or just not be used for the next 5 years. One of the reasons why I still haven't touched #Carbon. But its backward compatibility makes it a good bet.
If #Mojo can't work with my Python code, I won't touch it until it isn't in the top 50 on #Stackoverlow.
That being said, it is still very early access, but I am excited after hearing more about who and what is behind it.

I have been joking for a while that I am searching for my next language to add to my resume, and I am strongly leaning towards #Go and #Rust. I have used Go in a few projects, but honestly, I haven't even touched a line of Rust.
That being said, alongside this, I think I am finally going to add #Lua to my arsenal as well. I've been using #Neovim and would love to easily be able to write my own extensions, and I also see that #Redis has support for it.
Earlier today, I wanted to delete all keys in my Redis database with some <key>:<id>. I was a bit lazy and messed around. So I asked #ChatGPT just for a quick #CLI command. Which it basically said wasn't possible.
So I had 1 of 2 options. Write 5 lines of Python just randomly in my existing main file. OR! I see that #RedisInsight supports Lua!
Why do something in 5 minutes in 5 lines if I can automate it in a day by learning an entire new language?🙆♂️
