Ah great the Jayo Refills directly fit onto the Sunlu V3 Spools. I now have four of that spools empty at home, should be okay for basic needs.

Heute ist der #AMS-Heater angekommen.
Eine eigenständige Heizung für die #Filamente im #AMS das unabhängig vom #BambuLab #3Ddrucker das Filamente trocknet und so hält.
Mal schauen, ob es hält, was #Sunlu verspricht.
Der Umbau war in 5 Minuten erledigt.
Die Silicagel Behälter könnten jetzt eigentlich weg, vielleicht bringen sie ja auch noch etwas.

Bui, der #SUNLU #AMS Heater wird auch immer teurer. Aktuell kostet er 147 EUR! Ich hab im Juli noch 105 EUR gezahlt. 😳

Update on the 3D printer setup.
I picked up a couple of the Sunlu FilaDryer SP2 dryers. I then printed some brackets to mount auto rewinders in and feed my MMU directly from them.
I only set up 4 but I’m good with that for now. It’s clean, easy to load and easy to dry without having to remove the filaments.

My Sunlu AMS Heater has arrived! It's an addon for the Bambulab AMS (first gen) that enables drying even while printing! Very easy installation, only the cover must be replaced (which is held by four screws).
I already have a dedicated Sunlu filament dryer (the S4) which I'm very happy with. So preordering the AMS Heater was a no-brainer. Not having to pre-dry filament before printing is very appealing.

Now drying. The nice thing about this dryer is that it can hold 2 1kg spools at a time. And once dry you can seal it so it’s a storage container and you can feed the printer from it. #Sunlu #3DPrinting

I will say #Sunlu filament spools are much higher quality than the cardboard spools I get with Polymaker filament. I would be elated if I could reuse them and buy coils of their filament without the spool.

the sunlu works and that's it, the polymaker will need to change the battery in the humidity meter and the silica in the filter in the future. sunlu uses more energy, but also costs less initially. The polymaker is more expensive and will incur occasional maintenance costs. I wouldn't mind having the polymaker turned on continuously and the process taking longer, if it meant the same cost spread over that time and quiet operation 👇

between these two filament dryers the perfect model will emerge. the #sunlu is quiet and small. the #polymaker is more energy efficient. when we turn off the sunlu, it does not isolate the filament and, therefore, we have to constantly turn it on again. the polymaker makes more noise, but it keeps the environment dry and we don't need to turn it on for every print. the sunlu gets bumped and falls over, the polymaker is robust. 👇

Filament dryers really work well. I got a #SUNLU dryer and ran one roll through it and it's printing so much better!

Finally seems to be working. Once I fix the description I'll post a new #esp32 #speaker box on #printables.

Another morning, another clogged PTFE teardown.
This #sunlu filament is cursed. Fat spots that the #Prusa pushes almost but not quite hard enough to feed without breaking.
So it breaks off right at the PTFE entry, stuck firmly enough that I need to remove the heatbreak and tube before I can get it out..

This morning's wizarding is a new case for my #esphome speakers. Specifically, I love https://www.printables.com/model/363300-esphome-speaker but it doesn't fit the ESP32 boards I settled on ( https://amzn.to/3JA0lpA )
If #esphome supported #i2s on #esp8266 this wouldn't be an issue. I have plenty of esp8266 boards that are roughly the right size. Alas, filing a bug would involve another fight with #stalebot.
Instead of climbing the #barriertoentry, I fired up #Fusion360 (thanks https://usebottles.com/app/#fusion360 !) and whipped up a quick alternate box bottom.
Unfortunately, some terrible no good very bad filament from #Sunlu has managed to completely jam my extruder right below the gear, so I can't print it yet.
I am so tired of rebuilding this stupid #Prusa. The hot-end was decent before the #mmu2 disaster, but that conversion and subsequent fix-after-fix has made it sketchy at best. At least I'm getting good at teardowns. (And I'm saving for the top MK4 upgrade to get rid of the PTFE entirely.)
