My #Knave2e #ttrpg by #BenMilton has shipped! I also got the PDF and I'm liking what I am reading so far.
It's a tad crunchier than the #CairnRPG (which I also really enjoy), but not by much. I can see using it to run the adventures from @fuseboy's #TrilemmaAdventures Compendium.
And... I really enjoy the #PeterMullen art throughout. It is consistent and nice and really drives home the overall feeling the game is trying to evoke.

Any fans of British #comedy or #WillShakespeare out there? I've just finished watching season 2 of #UpstartCrow, a satire penned by the brilliant #BenElton and loosely based on the life and work of the Bard of Avon, his household, and the company of actors who put on his plays. I'm sure I'm not catching all the witty references but I'm loving the ones I do and #HarryEnfield is hilarious as always as Will's slovenly father.

1. First RPG bought this year.
The first, and so far only, #RPG, that I have bought this year is Knave 2nd Edition by #BenMilton (aka #QuestingBeast).
So far I am using it as a side step from the Cairn 1e RPG.
Both games scratch a similar itch for me and I like them both.

#Knave2e by #BenMilton, aka #QuestingBeast, arrived in the mail today. It's a beautiful book and I am looking forward to running games of it for family and friends.
Ben's done a good job of writing a concise fantasy #RPG rules set and packaged it in a product that contains tools, is organized, and is laid out in such a way as to be useful both in game prep and on-the-fly at the gaming table.
The #PeterMullen art throughout ties everything together beautifully.

yes, it features the predictable brit comedy tropes (the frustrated female e.g.) but more than that, this is a better grade of satire. Does it punch down? It flirts with ableism and homophobia, doesn’t seem to cross the line the way contemporary brit comedies did/do?there is occasional shouting, but not Fawlty Towers level shouting (abuse is no substitute for humour imo)
plautus (254-184BCE) wrote a play about a slave who saved his master from the master’s incompetence - we have seen this comment on class systems reworked in shows like a funny thing happened on the way to the forum, Frankie Howerd’s camp version Up Pompeii (1971) but especially the 1961 sitcom The Rag Trade.
the question with the thin blue line remains who is the master and who is the saviour…
