I hate to say it, as much as I love #TheGoodPlace, and it definitely grabs me by the feels more than any show ever has, I must say that #EdLasso is the best #MentalHealth TV show I've ever seen.

Kudos to @dm for turning me on to that show. I'm almost done with Season 3 (no spoilers!!!)

I'm watching #TedLasso S3E10, and they're playing the exact same "Spiegel im Spiegel" composition by Arvo Pärt during Rebecca's big speech that they played in the last episode of #TheGoodPlace.

Just realized some parallels between #TheGoodPlace and #TedLasso:

(Well, just two so far)

1. In season one, someone mentions Ted Danson, and The Good Place is listed in the shows that he was in.
2. In season three, when ted is in the American restaurant in Amsterdam tripping on a supposedly dud batch of 'shroom tea, the restaurant (like the one in The Good Place season 3) is both pretty trippy, full of over-the-top American stereotypes, and is staffed by Aussies (which, I guess would be obvious for a restaurant in Sydney (TGP) but very much not for a restaurant in Amsterdam (TL).

I have to think that was a purposeful hat-tip to The Good Place.

I have been rewatching The Good Place for the umpteenth time. It is a constant reminder that in a complex world, there are times when simple answers don't work. Such is a reason why philosophy exists.

This is in contrast to social media and politics, both of which have people screaming out simple answers that will fix everything.

Which is why I don't put much stock in many social medial posts or politicians.

I'm reminded of season 4 of #TheGoodPlace, where one of the characters is complaining about the racism and cluelessness of a white guy there, and she's basically saying, "I put up with crap like that my whole life. Why am I putting up with it HERE?!?"

That's one of those phrases that got deeply rooted in my being, like a compass.

I've been looking a bit at yabasic, and it looks fun. One of my favourite parts is that every time i see the word yabasic in the documentation and webpages, in my head it is being pronounced by Eleanor Shellstrop (played by Kristen Bell) saying "Yah basic!".
