Would have been excited for this because John McTiernan was directing rather than for Arnold. Schwarzenegger blamed the disappointing box office on it opening too close to Jurassic Park, but the fact I’ve never felt the need to rewatch it probably tells a different story.

Yet another early 90s crime film. I remember wanting to see this for the cast, but also because it was directed by John McNaughton, coming off the stark, uncompromising Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. A very different kind of film - lighter, a bit offbeat, and sadly, forgettable.

Pretty sure this is the only time I’ve seen this movie, and pretty sure I loved it at the time. Looks like there’s a sequel on the way later this year with Lily James and Pierce Brosnan. Count me in.

If you’re only inspired to watch one film from Admit One Daily, make it this one. Wonderful film. Criminally underappreciated. It’s a warm, affectionate and funny film about cinema itself.

I distinctly remember wanting to see this because it was written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale rather than for Walter Hill or the cast. Think I was disappointed by it.

I’ve got a soft spot for David Fincher’s debut. I don’t think it’s as bad as its reputation suggests. It manages to feel like its own thing while still sitting firmly in the Alien universe. I’ve never seen the Assembly Cut, but apparently it’s now available on HBO Max.

Who knew this Jean-Claude Van Damme/Dolph Lundgren vehicle was directed by Roland Emmerich? A man who made a career out of prioritising spectacle over character and story. Pretty sure this one had neither. I probably loved it at the time.
