Phracker

Phracker (n): A curious and resourceful individual who explores systems and makes them do nifty things

Who are the phrackers? I am. You are. We all are.

I'm the architect of phrackwave - the music of the phrackers - engineered sound for curious minds.

Here on Mastodon I post my art, music WIPs, and the occasional selfie.

  1. RGBI Macaw

Experimenting with the idea of creating an image with the RGBI colorcsheme. RGBI stands for Red, Green, Blue, Intensity. It's basically the colorscheme used by the text-mode console on Linux - with the six primary colors plus black and white, and with bright and dark versions of each of those colors.

  2. @autistics
Hello to anyone who reads this. I just learned about this group. I have autism and a bunch of other diagnoses. I like math, tech, and anything involving systems and complexity, and I make DIY music for similarly minded people. Feel free to check out my profile.

  4. Glitch Monalia

I made this for a DeviantArt challenge back in 2022. We were supposed to do our own "fixes" of the Mona Lisa, and I thought I'd have my submission be a databending of the painting.

  5. Electric Sky with Microtexture

I applied a microtexture to the cover art for my phracksynth single Electric Sky. If you zoom in all the way it looks really cool and geometric.

  6. Julia Doubly Mapped

A while ago I made a fractal that consisted of basically generating a Julia set and using Fractal Trace to map it to the Mandelbrot set. In this one I took the same image and mapped it again, so there's more complexity to the shapes and colors.

  7. Camofoliage

Something I made when I was experimenting with mixing different pixel sizes. This image is pixelated at three levels - 8x8 pixels, 4x4 pixels, and 2x2 pixels. I also overcompressed the image and re-indexed the colors multiple times in the process of getting this effect.

  8. Demise

Just an animation I made in GIMP. IIRC I got the continuous melting effect by repeatedly applying the Wind filter and rotating between three different constant seeds (used to randomize the filter).

  9. Glitchy Grid

This is the first "glitchy grid" I made, way back in 2023. I saw some amazing grid-based glitch art and wanted to emulate that aesthetic a bit. I didn't really succeed at that, but I got some images that still look cool.

  10. Ass Made of Glass

Made this from a base image created in DreamUp. With DreamUp output, if you manipulate the colors just right you get what looks like the code from The Matrix. I decided to make it pixelized for effect.

  11. Polar Fractal

Made by mapping an image to polar coordinates several times, meaning this image is the composition of about 20 or so rectangular-to-polar coordinate mappings. It has resulted in a very complex design.

  12. Frog Kitty

Glitch art I made from a cat meme template by playing with the exposure and inverting highlights/shadows, among other tricks. I called it "Frog Kitty" because the cat looks kinda like a frog.

  13. Paintjet

This is a manipulation I made using diagonal pixels and palette bending - a glitch art method I came up with that involves re-indexing an image with a palette that's incompatible with the original colorscheme for a trippy effect. I called it "Paintjet" because that's the name of the palette I used.

  14. It Slips Through Your Fingers

Artwork in the edgecore style - an aesthetic obtained by overcompressing an image at a JPEG quality of zero and then applying pixel sorting effects using the Wind filter in GIMP.
