I am looking for #StudyBuddies as I learn about #GenerativeAI and Python. Is anyone else learning? My learning journey is: I'm am basically leaving back end JVM work and learning about pytorch and hugging face via this Generative AI nano degree on #Udacity, and also linear algebra and vector databases. I'm pretty fresh to python etc, but eventually I want to start doing some generative geometry for 3D graphics, so that's what I'm working towards. Please respond!

I'm running through a Product Design course for free on #Udacity. My employer also has Microsoft Learn access as well. I like to learn courses in my "on the clock down time". By knocking these out, my end of year evals are usually top level.

Today I'm working on project 3 of 3 in my #Udacity #DeepLearning #ReinforcementLearning course. Aiming to get that finished up so I can focus on some content for Festive Tech Calendar.

It does have me daydreaming about #Unity though. I feel like I might do some light #gamedev in the new year to look for more concrete ways of talking about #AI in my blog posts and videos.

My plan for the day was to work on a course for a #Udacity nanodegree on #DeepLearning & #reinforcementlearning, but they haven't kept the course up-to-date and insist on old dependencies that no longer work on Windows. Spent the day instead putting #LinuxMint on my old desktop and configuring it there. Success, and I'll be able to do the project now, but that cost a lot of time.

Still, I have a working #Linux desktop now.

I finished project 1 of the #Udacity course I've been doing for fun on #reinforcementlearning with #deeplearning. Aiming to finish project 2 today and maybe even start on project 3.

Need to finish them within a month of starting or get a repeat bill.

Thus far it's been a disappointing course due to lack of maintenance, but I'm learning things.

While some don't think highly of #udacity , especially after a row with its content creators, I think back on my time taking that course fondly. I was unbelievably excited to get into the self-driving car nanodegree (I could only afford the first term, even).

Still, I was fascinated and challenged by its content, and it definitely inspired me to keep pushing forward with self education to crawl back into #robotics.

As I finish up my computer vision #cv course for my #robotics masters, I found myself thinking fondly to projects I did a few years ago for the #udacity self-driving car nanodegree.

These projects use purely "classical" computer vision - the pipeline demonstrated in one of the gifs. No neural nets at all.

I spent hours working on this and was quite proud of the result, learning a ton about #cv in the process.

Professionally I am a Sr. Analytics Engineer at 🚢#flexport. Previously built the 🐙#seattlekraken hockey operations data pipelining and warehousing solutions. Prior to that did data infrastructure design for ✍️#hellosign and was a data analytics Engineer at 👨‍🏫#udacity. Love all things data in general and am currently learning the ins and outs of 🦆#duckdb.

Finally fun fact about me, I played 🏉#rugby for 10 years and can still throw a solid back hand pass.
