  37. Speaking of driver licensing crap, it looks like New Jersey residents are refusing in droves to ride with a license.

Apparently only 11,000 E-bikes out of 300,000 in the state have been registered, which is a compliance rate of LESS THAN 5%. This compliance rate is similar to that of the failed former bicycle registration (no license or insurance just registration) in Washington DC. It was repealed after word reached the council that cops were using it for "biking while Black" stops while almost nobody else was registering their bikes.

Out of fear, many in NJ now are abandoning E-biking entirely, though hopefully they will take it up again when it becomes clear this cannot be enforced. There has been one person charged as though they were driving a car on a suspended license-even though the law does NOT specify court summonses only a $50 fine.

Bike shops report purchase drops of 20-90% for e-bikes, with many customers saying they don't want an e-bike at all if a license is required. Others are ordering online legal or otherwise and riding without a license. Still others thought they have been banned outright. Risk is limited in so doing to a (probably uncollectable) $50 fine and potential bike theft by the cops. Riding without a license unlike driving without a license does NOT appear to be arrestable, so this may prove unenforcible.

All the same, rental operations are closing, and some bike shops that used to do a lot of E-bike sales say they may not survive the year. Disabled customers that used to rely on E-bikes are apparently returning them in droves for refunds. People do NOT want a bike with a license it seems, and they are voting NO with their wallets.

The registration stickers used BTW should not be hard to counterfeit and could keep cops from even trying to pull over a rider. They are not easy to read from a distance, meaning cops can't sit by the side of the road, run E-bike registration numbers, and attempt a probably futile chase when one comes up as a fake.

NO QUARTER for bike licensing, and fuck the New Jersey State Police. We all know which side they have been on at Delaney Hall.

Plans to introduce an E-bike licensing law in NY appear to have been cancelled no doubt due to te chaos in New Jersey over this.

  42. I am switching from GMail to Yahoo Mail because they have a Basic HTML version on their site. I am trying to transfer some of my e-mails over to Yahoo. Right now, I'm doing this via Thunderbird by selecting them and moving them to the other account. When it works, it's great. But after awhile, GMail always stops working, and I am no longer able to search, even on the site itself, for a time. I need an easier way to do this. I am not referring to forwarding mail sent to GMail, as that only works for recent messages. I also don't want to transfer everything, as there are many things I don't need. Does anyone know of an accessible and efficient way that I can do this? Do any programs exist that would allow me to search by sender or keyword and then just move those e-mails? If not, would someone here be able to create such a program? Any solution given must work with NVDA, and preferably Windows 7, though I will use 10 or 11 if necessary. Thank you.
