  1. I’ve fully switched to OmniFocus (The Omni Group) from Things (Cultured Code). The two driving factors were that OF can handle some more complex relationships than can Things; and better external access into OF’s data (in this case through an MCP).

Both are great. Things is perfect for most people. If not for my new needs, I would probably still be there.

  5. Super exciting to see others interested in my “Things 3” CLI for #macOS called “clings”.

    Check it out: github.com/dan-hart/clings

  6. 🔍 / #software / #article / #productivity

I’ve tried them all. #Notion, #Todoist, #Things3, #OmniFocus, #Asana, #Trello, #AnyDo, #TickTick. I even built my own todo app once (spoiler: I never finished it). After years of productivity app hopping, I’m back to where I started: a plain text file called todo.txt

  7. Решил все же вернуться обратно с #Vikunja на #Things3 из - за отсутствия уведомлений и невозможности настроить на iOS нормально синхронизирующийся календарь. issue есть на эту проблему, но ему уже лет 5 и наверное он никогда не исправится.

  8. Genuinely curious: what makes #Things3 better than #TickTick? (Besides the fact that T3 doesn't work on Windows and literally doesn't have a free version/tier, I mean.)

  9. @TheMikeBurke I just noticed that only n-1 tasks are being moved via my AppleScripts but all are being tagged. Did you notice similar behaviour with your #Things3 AppleScripts?

    Thanks.

  10. I just improved my Things 3 evening tasks automation to preserve reminders on recurring tasks! If you use Things and want your evening tasks to actually remind you (and keep their deadlines), check out my updated AppleScript:

  11. So I've found that, while I have a ton of things in Things, the key to actually doing them is to set a due date

    Crazy, I know

  12. I use a to do list. I feel like every day I bite off way more than I can chew. I’m obviously not saying “no" enough. Am I scheduling too many big things? Am I doing them the right order? How do I fix this? #productivity #Things3

  13. @grymas_tysiaclecia Ad.

  14. hmmm #things3 is missing a proper api, yes, but perhaps i can #ansible my way out of dealing with other, possible electron, apps 👀
(normally i would update on the host directly but normally nothing unexpected happens, so maybe i could try to trust the ansible way... maybe)

  15. My primary platform is macOS, iOS. My primary #productivity tools are #Things3, #Fantastical, and #Obsidian. I've been a Things3 user for at least four or five years. Maybe more. I'm considering moving to #OmniFocus. Step one is to identify *why* I use a task manager. Here are the reasons, in order.

  16. @unknow Mam #AppleWatch.

    Mniej regularnie:
    - #Clic - sterowanie systemem #Sonos z zegarka
    - #Overcast
    - #Things3
    - #Timery - nakładka na #Toggl
    - #WorkOutDoors - jako nawigacja jeśli nie mam telefonu
    - #Runna - biegowe plany treningowe

  21. TIL that in #Things3 on #Mac you can hide/show sidebar with 2-finger horizontal scroll gesture on trackpad.

    So convenient ! 🤯

  22. I do start my working days for some weeks now by going through daily check-in #checklist. It contains:

    1. Check the calendar

    2. What is already on my today view in #Things3?

    3. Clarify what's in the #gtd #Things3 inbox

    4. Check e-mail

  25. @devondundee Thanks for the write up, currently tracking habits in #things3 checklist which is ok, but probably not the best way to do track habits over time and Definitely look into this more.

  26. One feature that has been missing from my favorite todo app, @things, has been the ability to automatically move tasks to the “Evening” section when they appear on the “Today” page. With the power of , we can fix this!

  27. I’m thinking the new, and comparatively minor, Things3 feature allowing the setting of text size makes a big difference

  28. @tekiegirl I will try Obsidian, thanks!

Proffesionally I use OneNote Outlook and Microsoft ToDo as it is native environment in most organizations I work with.

Privately I stick with AppleNotes (storing data) Things 3 (todo app) and Reeder 5 (as feed management and read-later service)

I also like Nozbe a lot, but don’t use it now.

Recently I experiment with Muse - brilliant drawing canvas for iPad.

  29. @things between 0 and 10, how featured-packed will the next things be? 😜 #things3

  30. @christian #Things3, one time payment for #Mac and #iOS. A native #App without a #subscription was one of the main reasons for me to choose #Things instead of all the subscription based #todoapps. Before I moved to #Things I was using #Todoist, but I never looked back.
