Errands is a Top To-Do List App for Linux Users
To get stuff done you need to get organised, and to-do apps can be a useful tool in helping you do that. There are plenty of terrific to-do list apps for Linux, ranging from focused with no-frills to complex with all-the-frills. In this post I spotlight an ace Linux to-do app I’ve been using a fair bit in recent months called Errands. Errands is a GTK4/libadwaita app written in Python. Its simple design and feature set makes it well-suited to those for those wanting to spend more time doing their tasks than organising them! Using this app you can: Nextcloud :sys_more_orange:

@christian #Things3, one time payment for #Mac and #iOS. A native #App without a #subscription was one of the main reasons for me to choose #Things instead of all the subscription based #todoapps. Before I moved to #Things I was using #Todoist, but I never looked back.

Every year, I go on a hunt for new #ToDoApps. There are dozens of them, which is already a sign that developers have yet to get it right. Most are too fussy. The only one I ever actively liked was “Put Things Off”, which had just two buttons: mark a task as completed or defer till tomorrow. Does anyone have recommendations? Today I came across Teux Deux by @swissmiss, which is the best yet. Do It Tomorrow is also good, but doesn’t seem to be maintained anymore.

Thinking out loud:
What I want from a todo system are
- ability to break down a task at any point into subtasks (and automatically track completion)
- dependence between tasks i.e. ability to say Task X depends on Task N which depends on Tasks C and D
- easy keyboard manipulation, no mouse dependence
- plaintext or near-plaintext storage
- priorities
- contexts
- being FOSS and local
- (nice to haves:) tags, recurring tasks

@dontoverthinklife yeah it's actually pretty good....but I was looking for something simpler like to do list kinda checkbox for the day on my home screen....there's an app I came across on f-droid or aurora droid not sure...but it was simpler and close to what I was looking for by looking at the screenshots they shared....let me know if you come across....:)
