I got used to having a scratch buffer in Emacs.

I am not using Emacs anymore, but tried to compensate for this by using a ~/scratch.md file. It didn't stick, i.e. wasn't habit-forming.

Trying out a scratch.md in Nextcloud Notes now.

It took me some time to figure out that "Notes is a native app" in Nextcloud means that I just need to create a new text file and start writing. I spent some time searching the menus for an app called "Notes".

I am moving to a different position at #Nextcloud and will return to my previous field of expertise: file providers on macOS. The fruits of work might spill over to iOS at some point.

Sadly, this means I will have less time to work on the rather inactive #NextcloudNotes app for iOS which I wanted to bring much further this year.

I use #NextcloudNotes, #Zettlr, #kwrite and a bit #tangent ( and obsidian too, but :blobcatgooglytrash: )

I try also orgmode with #orgzlyrevived and I like it - I tried also #emacs but that too hermetic for me … :blob_sweat:

That was not my intention but given the progress within a work day (I spent some of my weekend on this) it might be more reasonable to just rewrite Nextcloud Notes for iOS from scratch with SwiftUI, SwiftData, EasyMDE in WKWebView and so on. 😳 There would definitely be major advantages. From user perspective to developer work. 😌

I mean, I did not get to ask myself "How would I do it, if I could start over?" for no reason. 😅

@mykhaylo @emacs Ended up forking @rougier 's very slick looking notes-list.el (https://github.com/rougier/notes-list). I made it adaptable to other packages, including my package 🤓

Might ask him if he's interested in up-streaming some of my changes. Before I do that though, there's an issue to be fixed with `svg-tag-make' that I caused by removing the hard-dependency on nano-theme fonts :cat_typing:

I use the web interface and Thunderbird at homr and an Android app on the go, but I can imagine that the web interface would be fine to use in a browser on your Librem 5 as well.
This option requires a Nextcloud server on which the notes are stored as Markdown or txt files

Einkauflisten etc. teilen wir über #NextCloudNotes - ebenfalls auf der gleichen #YunoHost-Installation. Dazu gibt's dann auch eine brauchbare App im #FDroid-Store :mastolove:

@Iutech I love my workflow with #QOwnNotes on my Linux desktop and notebook and #NextCloudNotes on my mobile phone and other devices via webapp.
Privacy friendly, feature rich, sync works nicely and #Markdown support is all I could ask for! :ablobcathappypaws:

I'm running a #Wekan service on my #Yunohost server - and to me this really helpful to keep track of the many things I need to move forward.
All of this being #FOSS, I'd love to see #Nextcloud integrate more of that into #NextcloudNotes - but right now, Wekan still is worth the extra effort to me :mastolove:

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on #foss alternatives to #googleKeep I decided to test #standardNotes #joplinapp #turtl #carnet and #nextcloudnotes after some consideration I went for nextcloud notes.
