I make exclusive use of #FreeTube, #Grayjay, #Newpipe, #Invidious to watch youtube but noticed youtube blocks most of it. What is up with that? 🤨

Em ambiente Android tem o pipepipe e o newpipe(ambos só encontrados no fdroid). Vc salva os canais "seguros" pra ela e ao final, eles não colocam na tela "sugestões relacionadas", o que diminui o risco dela entrar em canal chapéu de alumínio. Ainda vai existir sugestões ao baixar pro nível dos comentários, mas já ajuda bastante. Eu uso sem logar, e pra eu pegar vídeos sugeridos, acabo indo pro notebook.

One of my #fediverse #2026Goals is to stop consuming Youtube videos and move to #peertube content. I use #NewPipe but I don't think it let's me loging using a peertube or fediverse account. Do you know any good app available for #android?

I'm not sure if everyone realises the implications of the mandatory registration for :android: #Android developers: https://www.androidauthority.com/android-developer-verification-requirements-3590911/

While there may be slightly less #malware on Android, the actual goal seems to be different:

Google is making Android a closed-off system, step by step. They want to get rid of unwelcome competition (including #FDroid) and also apps. Devs of apps such as #Revanced, #NewPipe, various tracking and adblockers in conflict with Google's revenue sources will certainly not be allowed to continue further for much longer. #Google is already harassing projects such as #Conversations or #Öffi via the #PlayStore. The system is also being walled-off in other places to put free alternatives in chains.

We desperately need a broad campaign to oppose this dangerous development. ✊ @fsfe @Framasoft

Zwar mag es sein, dass es etwas weniger #Malware unter Android geben dürfte, doch das eigentlich Ziel scheint ein anderes zu sein:

Google schließt Schritt für Schritt sein System ab. Man will unliebsame Konkurrenz (u.a. #FDroid) und auch Apps loswerden. Devs von Apps wie #Revanced, #NewPipe, diverse Tracking- und Adblocker wird Google sicher nicht ohne weiteres mehr gewähren lassen. #Google gängelt schon jetzt insbesondere Projekte wie #Conversations oder #Öffi über den #PlayStore. Auch an anderen Stellen wird die Offenheit eingeschränkt, um freie Alternativen langfristig in Ketten zu legen.

Wir brauchen dringend eine breit aufgestellte Kampagne, die sich gegen diese gefährliche Entwicklung stemmt. ✊ @fsfe @edri @fsf @Framasoft @Datenpunks @digiges @Endof10 @fdroidorg

Was ein Bild... Gestartet sind sie alle letzten Samstag um 12 Uhr in #Wien. Das Ziel heißt dieses Jahr #Nizza.

Die erste Frau, Larissa Unsinn mit der Startnummer #tpbr2025cap51, ist durch den anspruchsvollen #schwarzwald Parcours durch. Allein dieser ist über 100km lang und es sind ca. 2.500 Höhenmeter zu bewältigen.

Der erste Mann erreicht gerade den Parcours am dritten "Peak" - dem #ColledelleFinestre. Die Nordrampe ist eine geschotterte Straße und es sind auf gut 18 Kilometern fast 1.700 Höhenmeter zu überwinden.

Est-ce qu'il existe une (web) #app qui permet de #mixer des #musiques YouTube ou autre. Genre une app de #DJ, mais en entrée ce sont des liens et en arrière-plan ça lit les vidéos (voire le flux audio seulement) avec qqch genre #newpipe avec option de les pré-télécharger avec #ytdlp par exemple. et donc possibilité de changer le bpm, etc.

Just got a #FireStick for our #LG #TV because it is about 8 years old and #WebOS getting sluggish on it #PriveLiveNHL was 1 frame per second :AngeryCat:
Nice thing about the new stick is installing #APKs. I installed #Kodi on it and #NewPipe bye #YouTube #ads. The stick was cheaper than updating from the #RaspberryPi3 that was running #Libreelec but couldn't keep up to the Kodi #addons
