  1. @totoroot @rooster
    #nixos #kde_linux #IHP

what's your take on KDE linux?
I came to NIXOS via ihp.digitallyinduced.com/
But that only needs nix. Nix and Haskell is a cool combo imho.
But for a daily driver a stable and immutable OS is precisely what is needed. And the final version will be just right for non-technical people who I care for within EndOf10.

  3. @totoroot thinking about this more, what would be great is something like #cyclosm but for #dogs. For example it would use different colours for areas or ways where the key dog is leashed or not allowed.

  5. I'm going to bed. are shitting the bed after giving away game 6 and are now just shooting and missing ill-advised threes, down 28 points at the end of the third.
Send in the bench guys to get some reps. , you're not keeping your job anyways after this

  6. The takes from fans I had to read today here on Mastodon were so incredibly bad, that I'm going to mute all posts for a while...
Calling or the team dirty is such a horribly biased take.
I have no horse in this race and am happy about the competitive nature of these games, but if you don't understand why Green got ejected, consider giving this a watch:

  7. @sotneStatue Not to say that installing Linux on a device that was made by Microsoft, a computer that was basically a glorified tablet and had only one USB port, was a smooth experience.

I had ton of problems with drivers back then running OpenSUSE.

I learned a ton in a short period of time and got myself a nice old Lenovo when I came back home.

But in Cambodia enabled me to do my work in peace and my updates at the coffee shop, when I had stable, unlimited internet.

@madnuttah If you understand German, I can recommend, besides reading up on the topic itself, that you give this incredibly touching song by German rapper a listen:

are one of the most important memorials, as they get closest to making comprehensible that people like you and me, that would've have been our neighbours, got persecuted and unscrupulously murdered by this regime and their followers

  11. @xyhhx @cyberfarmer This page on the Arch wiki is certainly a good resource that I've used:

And this seems to be a very detailed write-up but I have to damit that I've just glossed over it:

  12. Man, I haven't had a day this unhealthy in a while 🍫🍔🥓
On Monday I had my first indoor basketball practice this season and usually two days after a strenuous practice I'm the most tired and hungry, so that might be the reason this time too 🤷‍♂️

  15. @groovestomp I do not agree with a lot of what has published over the years, even though I consumed a lot of his content when I started using Linux in 2015
In fact he was one reason why my first Linux distro was

What seems to have happend at around that time to him and many others at is absolutely harrowing
That is still present each and every day, in countries like and no less, is fucking saddening

  16. @abcdw I often find myself in similar situations with
Had an issues automounting a directory with yesterday, that I just couldn't figure out, but I still wouldn't trade the power you get with a declarative OS like or for some eye candy or less configuration efforts

  17. Hey @[email protected],
After reading this post, I explored the options that one has as a user, when it comes to and finally opted for the extension.
The software itself is and since I did not want it to send everything I write to some remote server, I set up a Docker container on a local machine with the help of this repository:
    github.com/Erikvl87/docker-lan
I like the results so far, so perhaps it could be something for you to consider too :)

  18. Hey @kensanata,
After reading this post, I explored the options that one has as a #Firefox user, when it comes to #spellchecking and finally opted for the #LanguageTool extension.
The software itself is #FOSS and since I did not want it to send everything I write to some remote server, I set up a Docker container on a local machine with the help of this repository:

  20. @skunksarebetter If you do a lot of work around , should definitely be in your digital toolbox!

  21. @sotneStatue @yyp @metalune Not sure if that's what @sotolf uses, but is pretty great:
    eurkey.steffen.bruentjen.eu/
There is a variant of EurKEY for -DH (gitlab.com/jungganz/eurkey-col) but I guess they just use the multilingual Colemak layout (colemak.com/Multilingual) or something custom, since they have talked about using Colemak in the past.

  22. @yarmo Nah not IMO...better donate the money to a non-profit like , or

  23. @Volpit If you're thinking about I would also strongly suggest as your new language of choice. It's , intuitive, fast and has an amazing community and documentation to help get you started (julialang.org/)
I'm pretty confident that it will push of the throne of scientific computing in the coming years, except for a few technological niches who strongly depend on stuff like ...

  24. @kev Thanks for sharing!

Zoho Mail was actually one of the first services I migrated to when I started moving away from Google's in 2012 and I have been very happy with it ever since. In the beginning their stance on user privacy was what convinced me to sign up and even though the UI wasn't all too pretty in the beginning, I am delighted with the progress over the years!

  25. I am trying to formulate a preamble for a repository for shared #AgenticCoding workflows at work and want to emphasize some risks of using #LLMs and #agents, which are IMO often ignored to further increase "developer velocity".

Does anyone have good references on biases in
    #LargeLanguageModels besides this well-known paper?

Anything devs might actually read out of interest if linked to from a README?

  26. Wanna know what was shown during the half time break?
Highlight plays of the first half. Sounds great, right?

What do you think was shown during the timeouts?
Coaches discussing plays with their players and a few camera pans to the crowd.

What a fantastic experience! Makes me want to watch more
#FIBA and even less #NBA going forward.

  27. Also I once again realized how shit watching an #NBA game is compared to #FIBA basketball.

I was just able to enjoy watching the finals game of the European
#Basketball Campionship in high definition on a free channel without any ad breaks. There weren't any extended timeouts just to force commercials for disgusting fast food and stupidly big pickup trucks down my throat.

I like watching basketball every now and then. I hate watching commercials. Fuck the
    #AdvertisingIndustry !!
