@Tutanota I currently use:
- @nextcloud for #file #storage
- #Posteo for e-mail
- @joplinapp, @zettlr, and #paper for #notes
- #Everdo for to-do lists (although I've suspected for a while that #GTD isn't all it's cracked up to be and am looking for a better alternative)
- @libreoffice and occasionally in-browser Nextcloud for #office software
- I avoid #AI most of the time for personal use, making an exception when I have to correspond with the #bureaucracy. Although tbh even this use of AI makes me uneasy.#filestorage #cloudstorage #email #Nextcloud #Joplin #Zettlr #todo #todolist #todolists #LibreOffice #officesoftware

@gvwilson I use both, for differents use cases.
I prefer a bit the 'text to slides' tools like #markdown with #zettlr but sometimes, specially with picture it's a no go and I prefer the #LibreOffice presentation tool. 😊

Any piece of Software that lets you share Media with others, be it #messengers like #signal or SMPs like #mastodon or #bluesky, should prompt you to decide, whether you want to keep, change or delete the #metadata of the media file.
The same goes imo for any application, that lets you insert media files into larger documents, like #zettlr, #joplin, #LibreOffice, etc.
All these applications should offer both, a default setting AND a per-file prompt/switch that allows to make this decision.
This is BETTER than stripping metadata silently by default because:
* it creates awareness for the issue with the user base.
* I do not have to remember for each application I work with, how it handles the problem. (I should not have to read through the docs for this!)
* thus I will not have to use third party tools to remove metadata each time i share a pic, when it is actually done by the main application anyway.
* last but not least, there are cases where it is better or even important to preserve metadata. -

I started (personal) journaling again, electronically, because paper is my enemy (yet somehow, I decided cardstock crafts were a good fit :ablobthinkingeyes: )
Maybe one day when I clear out my "other" paper backlog, I can start a junk journal.
For now, for anyone with a love-hate relationship with paper, specifically notebooks, dated journals, planners, etc. you might like Zettlr for (personal) journaling.
I don't know if that was intended form, but it works wonderfully for me.
