Last Thursday, a #USNavy surveillance drone conducted an unusual reconnaissance mission around Cuba.

Cuban President #MiguelDiazCanel, meanwhile, has repeatedly promised to resist any US attack through guerrilla warfare.

In an effort to pre-empt a #US attack, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) is teeing up a war powers resolution vote for early next week, according to congressional aides who spoke with RS.

On March 13, as the Cuban people continued to resist Washington’s siege of their country, #Cuba’s president #MiguelDíazCanel Bermúdez met with reporters. His press conference was a follow-up to one earlier where he had outlined the extreme adversity caused by the #US #blockade of #oil deliveries to the island and measures underway to mitigate and overcome those hardships.

With characteristic frankness and transparency, he responded to #Trump’s threats and to journalists questions about the everyday challenges the Cuban people are diligently working to overcome.

During the press conference he assured the participating journalists that he and other government officials would continue to hold regular sessions with the media to update the population on both progress being made and new challenges.

#Cuban ⁠officials have ⁠held talks with the US government to seek solutions to the crippling #⁠blockade imposed by Washington, President #MiguelDiazCanel said, as the #Trump administration’s threats to take over the #Caribbean nation escalate.

“These talks have been aimed at finding solutions through dialogue to the bilateral differences ‌we have between the two nations,” #DiazCanel said in a video aired on national television on Friday.
