    i understand why firefox would rather keep translations accurate, but sometimes the end result is that certain pieces of text get too clunky, like the extensions pop-up

    here is how i would fix the problem, several options

    conservative: the pop-up lines are simplified to read
    "Can't access this site"
    "Can read this site"
    "Can read and modify this site"

    more radical: the pop-up gets an extra column in the middle (before the settings gear), titled "Data access", and it instead says "no", "read only" or "read and modify"

    even more radical: the entire thing is turned into an icon grid, each icon gets either a lock (no access), a crossed-over pencil (read-only access) or a regular pencil (full access) in the bottom-right (or bottom-left for RTL locales, i guess) corner to indicate

    or, alternatively: the extensions pop-up is now sorted based on what access each individual extension has, so it lists them like this:

    Extensions with full access to the page:

    • Lorem Ipsum
    • Dolor Sit Amet

    Extensions with read-only access to the page:

    • Consectetur
    • Adipiscing Elit

    Extensions with no access to the page:

    • Sed Do Eiusmod
    • Tempor Incididunt
