More efficient every day: #Poppler, the #PDF engine used by #Okular, gets the KDE treatment and can now generate documents with embedded forms that can be more than 10 times smaller thanks to a technique called _subsetting_. Watch the video to see how this works.
This feature was implemented by Ojas Maheshwari's during their KDE Google Summer of Code stint.

At a 2-day workshop at the end of May, 10 enthusiastic students learned how software determines the operating life of their devices.
They then rolled up their sleeves and upgraded 5 laptops to make them usable again with #FreeSoftware #OpenSource (#Fedora, #Debian, #MXLinux #KDE #Plasma6).
Now they decide where to donate the laptops: To the school, the library or people in their community 🚀
