  1. Famous globular cluster Terzan 5: an imposter after all One of the largest, most famous globular clusters in our Milky Way is Terzan 5. Only, it might not be a true globular cluster after all. In fact, many of them might be imposters. bigthink.com/starts-with-... #space #astro #stars #globular

  3. A #Globular #Cluster is a tightly bound, spherical collection of hundreds of thousands to millions of old stars that orbits a galactic core.

Globular clusters generally form early in the galaxies’ histories in regions rich in gas and dust. Since the stars form from the same cloud of gas as it collapses, they typically hover around the same age.

  5. A #Globular #Cluster is a spherical collection of hundreds of thousands to millions of stars, tightly bound together by gravity.

They are some of the oldest known objects in the universe, estimated to be 10 to 13 billion years old, and are found in the halo of galaxies .

  6. [@IRAP #Seminar] this Thursday at 11am. Cristina Pallanca from the University of Bologna will present the dynamics of #globular clusters and focus on some of their components: #compact #objects, including binary millisecond #pulsars #msp

  7. #Globular #clusters are the most massive and oldest #star clusters in the #Universe. They can contain up to 1 million of them. The chemical composition of these stars, born at the same time, shows anomalies that are not found in any other population of stars.
