  1. CW: trypophobia? potter wasp nest

@cohanf As a child I was stung quite often, until I learned how to act around them.

Having a nest that size would make me uneasy, but it's a free sculpture... so... I don't know what I would do.

I do have some pretty big potter wasps flying around, building their mud nests in what's supposed to be my studio XD I think they're harmless, we don't mess with each other. Here's a pic I took:

As we spelunk, we might recall that it was on this date in 1962 that the U.S. military detonated Little Feller I, a tactical nuclear weapon at the Nevada Test Site as part of Operation Sunbeam. It was the last near-ground atmospheric nuclear detonation conducted by the United States. The high-altitude Fishbowl tests concluded in November of1962 with a detonation at around 69,000 feet altitude. Thereafter, in accordance with the 1963 Partial Test Ban Treaty, tests were conducted underground… more holes.

  17. Digging a hole 🕳️
    I'm not a hole digger.

Its very very hard work, hole digging.
I really should pay a man to dig the hole.

But once I started, it's become a personal challenge.
Hole must be dug by own hand.

I go to the gym to do physical work.
    Here is work directed.

Hole digging is more complex than non hole diggers think, for example removal of the fill is an important part of digging. I really should get a wheelbarrow.
    Who knew?

Gives me a newfound sense of respect for anyone moving dirt by hand, worker or farmer.

    Old person and the hole.

This post is about digging holes...
... But also about programming by hand in the age of Ai
