@geerlingguy I never had one of them fancy rack mounted jobs, but I did run my website on a G4 Cube on my desk for many years (running Mac OS X Server 10.4).

I too liked that era of Mac OS X. I miss it.

Last week I saw a #Macintosh G4 Cube incl power supply on a flea market. Was I stupid not to ask at least for the price? Cube was standing upside down on concrete and had some scratches and nicks in the acrylic. #Mac #Apple #G4Cube #Mac

The #Apple #G4Cube was a work of art, and the design predecessor of today’s #Mac mini. Beautiful and functional, though sadly somewhat underpowered, it showed that computers didn’t have to be boring beige boxes.

huh. never noticed how similar the vent holes on the bottom of the #mac #g4cube are to the mac pro vent holes from 15yr later!

Someone is selling a G4 Cube on craigslist in my area and it looks almost mint condition. It comes with the power supply which most sellers on eBay seem to be splitting from the main system to sell separately.

I must have self control…..I must have self control….I must have self control….

Someone else buy this so I can't anymore! 😄

Today's #MARCHintosh post is a photo of my Power Mac G4 Cube, given to me not long ago by a co-worker who said she wanted it to go to a good home. Here, I fired it up for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Looks and runs nicely.

It has found a spot next to Lisa while I figure out how I want to put it to use.
