No idea. Mounted the small rubber shroud for the rear fan from the Quicksilver, as opposed to the plastic shield that holds the fan in the Digital Audio, and I've mounted a 120mm fan on top pointing out, Intel cooler style. I don't honestly think heat is the issue, but I'd like to at least eliminate it as a variable (or hey, maybe it is the issue, and I can prevent losing another night to fighting with yet another cursed G4).
Starting to once again lose my taste for playing with old Macs (though there's always the possibility that it's a side effect of the modified ATX power supply).

It is entirely possible that what is actually happening is it's going to sleep, and then failing to wake up (which I think is a side effect of the modded ATX power supply). I've now slid the sleep timer in the Energy Saver panel to Never, but I'm too dumb and impatient to wait and see if this solves it, and I currently have OS9.2 installing to the IDE drive. Wish me luck, lol.

I found a #powermacg4 tower at our local thrift/food/second hand hall. It was sold by the adult dvd store, for some reason.
Anyway, it followed me home and after reinstalling the OS to get rid of the prior owner's data I have to say there's not THAT much difference between #macos9 and #macosx

There was a changing of the guard today as I upgraded my 2003 PowerMac G4 to a 2013 Mac Pro. New office. New Mac.
Or, in simpler terms, ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony on my desk for a brief time.

Everything looks awesome, & I’m gonna finish my play through of #oregontrail & startup #indianajonesfateofatlantis.

In all my years, I barely touched computer games. I never liked gaming in it. I always prefer playing in a couch etc, but I was gifted a #powermacg4 a while back & those old #lucasartsgames have always been on my backlog so I needed to upgrade my #mac. Maxed out the RAM at 4GB and ordering a new battery for the motherboard. I want to replace the #harddrive to #ssd eventually. I need to blow air into this thing… #macgaming

Running Debian Wheezy on the iMac G4 PowerPC is DOA: it doesn't come with HTTPS installed and therefore is air gapped by protocol.
I didn't realize it before but the latest version that supports the PowerPC is Debian Jessie 8.10, so I am making an install DVD with *that* image and trying again.
