One of the big drawbacks of buying a #Macbook instead of a #Thinkpad/#Framework laptop is that if a key breaks on your laptop you are kinda screwed or rather you are looking at a rather huge bill.
So this is the punishment for being too lazy to maintain #Linux and opting for #OSX.
At any rate now using an external keyboard and when that isn't practical #Karabiner to the rescue using the "fn" key as modifier to double up some still working keys.

I'm trying to get to the #Javascript console of an ancient #iPad and I've just discovered #iOS has a remote debug option. I've enabled "Settings -> #Safari -> Advanced -> Web Inspector" on the iPad, and "Safari -> Settings -> Advanced -> Show features for web developers" on an iMac, but for the life of me can't get the iPad to show in the iMac's Safari Develop menu? Even restarting the iPad doesn't work. Finder can see it though.

A MacBook Pro 2017 is not a reliable multitrack audio recorder. Just saying. At least not with Dante Virtual Soundcard when used in summer. Something throttles the entire machine when it gets too hot. Happened to me several times in open air situations.
In winter times, it works well.
Which I find quite annoying, because… the thing works well, and it was expensive. It's just not built well… Now I could get myself a used M1, but only if it doesn't run the latest version of macOS, because then it likely would not work with my mobile recording audio interface any more. (RME Fireface 400.)
Also, I was paid 50 bucks for the backup recording that wasn't 100% stable now, and I can't buy a 500€ used M1 from that now.

I feel I want to drop my current to do app (Actions by Bonobo Labs) in favour of Apple reminders just due to the ease of using Siri, and showing them in calendars, but I'd prefer an app that is more elegant than the native reminders app. Anyone know a good app that is a more elegant front end to the base Reminders back end?

Apples support for iPods is incredible. This #iPod mini (128GB upgraded) released in early 2005. It's support ranges from #OSX 10.2 Jaguar up until today with MacOS.
And it syncs and plays modern format like Apple Lossless (ALAC) and AAC 320kbit on it's original firmware. Though the Apple Music app on modern #MacOS seems to lack the feature to remove songs so I used the #Powerbook for music management via #iTunes instead.
