You can get a closer view or the formation and the dike wall by taking the paved Indian Service Road 13. 8. Mentmore cliffs are west of Gallup, with a large variety of sport & trad climbs, with routes 40-50 feet tall. Numerous moderate routes, with easily accessible top-rope anchors. Two main areas, the "Original Side" and the "New Side." There are longer climbs on the "New Side." 🧗‍♂️

  9. The ferry ride between #Volendam and the peninsula of #Marken over the open water is one of my favorite short routes near #Amsterdam. The wind blows right off the sea, and those green wooden houses stand tightly packed by the harbor. If you like cheese, a quick stop in #Edam makes a lot of sense. A simple day trip that shifts your perspective entirely.

  10. Cloudcroft was founded as a logging camp for the railroad built through Alamogordo, 4500-feet below in the Tularosa Basin. The cooler temperatures in the mountains, and beautiful forests and meadows, made the village a popular destination for people seeking a reprieve from the heat at lower elevations.

  12. going to Italy for lunch,

I am going to miss living so close to Italy. we have a favorite restaurant in ventimiglia that we visit a few times per year.

ventimiglia is the first Italian city by the border and they have a great street market every Friday.

just found out that I can buy a day pass for 20 euro and up to 8 people can travel with that card for an extra 5 euro each.

that's a huge discount compared to the 25 euro per person return tickets.

Doris is of course want to buy parmesan cheese and glass cover for her phone and Italian gelatos.

  15. This is a beautiful, relaxing stroll along the East Fork of the Jemez River, perfect area to look for wildflowers from June - September. The stream flows in a rocky canyon (popular with rock climbers) in a deep conifer forest. The stream meanders through a series of open meadows. The trail goes for about 2 miles before climbing out of the canyon in a series of switchbacks.
