Despite sleeping like crap currently, I dragged myself to the #bouldering gym this morning, as I had a way too long break already *again*. This year is a lot so far...
Anyway. Strength could have been better, but that will come back. The most important thing is that I went and that I climbed.

How far away is the first 9b boulder?
In 2016, Nalle established the world's first 9a/ V17. Now, 10 years later, Elias has proposed the first 9a+/ V18.
If future repeat ascents confirm the grade, the historical trend of the world's hardest boulder problems suggests the first 9b could arrive in roughly 12–15 years.
Do you think we'll see a 9b boulder before 2040?

Another slab done! This one was part of the finalists boulders for a junior comp. The footholds during the first half were beyond bad and reaching up to the undercling was a tricky move, can't imagine how hard that must be for children half my size. Glad I finally got it!

@gregrorio esse gancho de perna na curva da pedra foi ninja.
Mandou bem. Parabéns.

Might be doing this a tad late but here's my #introduction
Hi I'm Chickpea (he/she/they) because I eat lots of chickpeas; was vegan for 7 years but succombed to the cheese cravings, now I'm #vegetarian
Here to post #poledance vids to record my progress and help me remember if I ever managed a specific move. My memory is 💩 because of #adhd

Did my first V6 slab boulder. I fell off the start move about 20 times and 20 times more off the rest.

Recently did this V5 slab with some tiny footholds and stretchy moves

#TIL that these are called a #volume in #bouldering. In bouldering, there are #paths, which are well-designed #climbing routes, to practice specific skills used in bouldering. In a bouldering gym, a path is built with plastic elements called volumes. This volume is part of a path made for kids, and has the shape of an elephant in a #cartoon #style.
EXIT: Not a volume but a grip! (See reply to this for details - thanks @codebyjeff )

Time to sack off the rental shoes. 💪
La Sportiva Tarantula and Tarantula Boulder are comfy, forgiving first shoes for indoor routes and blocs, with men’s and women’s fits and sticky FriXion rubber.
Our whole Tarantula range is 10% off right now at Inglesport.

New shoe day! Got a pair of Unparallel Vims for 50 € in a fire sale.
They are really fun to climb in! A new go-to for warmup and sunday bouldering.

For an #introduciton post on this new, strangely filled place with a feeling of freedom, I would like to simply say that I just want to have a spot to share my pictures online. It is supposed to be fun after all.
So I like to photograph the Sun wherever I can find it. I like to focus on feeling, rather than perfection.
I also am into #gaming ,alternative and underground #music , #bouldering . I live in Norway.

When beta comes together perfectly 👌
Our mate Toby showing us how it's done at the local wall! Fancy getting into bouldering? Pop in for a brew and a chat - we're always keen to help get more folks on the wall 🧗♂️

Fun session on the Kilter Board. Felt too tired for gym routes today so doing some chill board climbing was perfect!
This was Don’t fart in a space suit (6A). 😂

Climbed at the gym for the third morning in a row this week. Managed a newly set 5.9 first time on the #topRope auto-belay, then explored lateral routes in the #bouldering area.
It's amazing how quickly I relax when my mind is distracted from the daily stresses by dangling from a wall. -
Spent an hour on a single 6b problem today at Kiipeilyareena Ristikko (it’s the first blue one from the right at Intro). Looked simple, turned out to be mega technical. Don’t remember any other bloc of this grade being this difficult at Kiipeilyareena.
The rest of the session was mostly easy comp routes and searching for the least powerful beta for the fun orange 6a in the photo.
Sloooowly coming back from covid. :catjam:

CW: What's a good sport for starters if you're overweight an poor?
Ideally something I can do with my #dog. And if it's a team sport or something you do in a group, it should be something lots of queer-friendly people do (dressing room issue and all that).
I currently weigh more than twice my usual weight (correction: "almost", not "more than) and very much lack stamina.Okay, that's all for the question, now I'll just list what I did in the past and my thoughts about doing that again.
#running: For a short time I was quite the long distance runner and very motivated. I was 18 and the laps I ran got much longer from day to day.
I just talked about that with my therapist and now I'm really motivated to do that again and it's something I can do with my dog.
I know I have to start really slow and improvement will come a lot harder this time. I remember I ruined a lot of running shoes and they were not cheap. Now with my weight they will be destroyed even faster and I need good shoes to spring my weight.#biking: I did a lot of that all my life until about 5 or more years ago my bike got stolen. I currently have a really bad bike - just enough to get started at all again, but if I really want to do this more again, that will cost a lot.
#hiking: Definitely something I could do with my dog and probably better for footwear than running. Downside: Takes a lot of time.
#basketball: I played as a kid and I loved it. Apart from running this was the only sport where I pushed myself to go on even if I was out of breath. Can't imagine to do this now until I get more fit.
I once did a course called #FreestyleMoves (preparation for #FreeRunning and #pacours).
That was really great, but also not for now.#yoga: Probably a good idea to start again soon.
#FloorExercises (more concrete: #BodyWeightExercises) Can't hurt either. My "specialty" were #handstands. Wonder if I could still do one.
#climbing: In a hall, two meters high, without a rope, there's a word for that. (I was told it's #bouldering) Too heavy for that atm.
#FitnessCenter: I even went to one of those for a while and was quite muscular - sixpack and all.
(addendum: I was reminded in the replies about #swimming and #NordicWalking. I did both of that too in the past and might try again - good stuff.)
(Also, I just remembered: #juggling: Great for doing whenever I have a little time and don't want to break a sweat.)
Yeah I did quite a lot of #sports for some phases of my life (might even have missed some) and I would love to get #fit again, #LoseWeight and get a #routine.
Meeting other people while doing that would be another plus, but as I said: only in a queer(friendly) community. -
Another climbing adventure in SF. This time I did a mix of top rope and bouldering at Movement gym. And OMG, the view!!
